Exciting news from northern Ghana! In partnership with DEUTSCHE GESELLSCHAFT FUR INTERNATIONALE ZUSAMMENARBEIT (GIZ) GmbH and Agriterra, Bunge is proud to launch The Women Shea Business Cooperative project, which is set to make a real impact on the livelihoods of 2,500 shea-collecting women. This 3.5-year initiative will create six business cooperatives, providing valuable opportunities for women in the region. Today we announced the sale of Bunge's 50% share in its sugar and bioenergy joint venture in Brazil to bp. The joint venture BP Bunge Bioenergia was formed in 2019 and combined both companies’ Brazilian bioenergy and sugarcane ethanol businesses with a total of 11 mills located across the Southeast, North and Midwest regions of Brazil. At closing, which is expected to happen in the fourth quarter of 2024, bp will own 100% of the business. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eS2N-P-B

We are pleased to announce that Olleco Bunge continues its ongoing expansion in Europe with its fifth acquisition in Spain and first two in the Netherlands.  In Spain, the company acquired Savisol Málaga, with operations in the cities of Málaga and Cádiz, which will strengthen Olleco Bunge's service offering across the region.  In the Netherlands, the acquisitions of Klep & Zn Recycling and De-Vetboer, located outside of Rotterdam and Amsterdam respectively, will bolster Olleco Bunge's existing Dutch operations to cover the entire Randstad region.     These acquisitions will enable Olleco Bunge to help drive synergies with existing operations, offering a unique circular economy solution for edible oils for the hospitality, foodservice and food manufacturing industries. #Expansion #Growth #CircularEconomy

Exciting news in the world of plant proteins! Our new pea and faba protein concentrates are setting the bar for European-origin pulse proteins to help customers meet growth and sustainability needs across food and feed. They deliver 55-70% protein content, are made via dry-fractionation without using water or solvents, and leverage crops from farmers engaged in regen ag practices like crop rotation. This game-changing undertaking is being executed in collaboration with Golden Fields, a European agricultural company and key dry miller to produce pea and faba protein concentrates exclusively for Bunge. Anatolia is the homeland of olive trees in #Türkiye. We have built relationships with olive farmers in the area for over 146 years to produce high quality olive oil, such as Komili. Through the Komili Olive and Olive Oil Institute, we support female olive farmers, with trainings on modern, sustainable, and climate-smart farming practices to support organic olive production. Advancing our sustainability journey! In partnership with our customer CP Foods, we are pioneering greater transparency in shipments of deforestation-free soybeans by using blockchain technology. So far, around 185,000 metric tons of deforestation-free soybean meal were shipped from Brazil to Thailand to test our joint digital blockchain traceability solution for sustainable soy.   Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/d3yNrDzh
