As an Act4Food Youth Leader 2024 from Kenya 🇰🇪, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the #ACT4FOOD Youth Workshop last month in Arnhem, Netherlands🇳🇱. Joined by 20+ passionate Youth Leaders from around the globe, we focused on #SDG2 #ZEROHUNGER, creating resilient food systems, promoting food security, and leading AgriFood transformation campaigns within our communities.
During this exciting workshop, I had the chance to present my milestones on SDG2, connect with other youth leaders, and gain insights from their diverse perspectives. A heartfelt thanks to ACT4FOOD Founder Sophie Healy-Thow for her selfless leadership, which ensured everything went smoothly, and to Miriam Shindler and Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) for making the event seamless.
One of the highlights was visiting the Farm of The Future. As a researcher with experience in Experimental Design, Randomized Block Designs, Efficacy Tests, and Hypothesis Testing, I found this visit incredibly inspiring.
The workshop also included an Evaluation Assessment by experts from #Glocolearning and #Wageningen University, which enhanced our understanding of the core elements needed for creating an ACT4FOOD evaluation assessment.
Together, we youth leaders developed policy campaigns to drive the growth and development of ACT4FOOD in our countries and communities, focusing on:
~Access to Healthy and Nutritious Food;
~Revamping School Feeding Programs;
~Education on food and Promoting Indigenous food;
~Food production, Tackling Effects of Climate Change;
~Climate-smart Agriculture;
~Creation of Green Jobs and Employment for Youth
