The #VegetablesforAll project by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) has adopted a Market Facilitators (MF) driven approach to supply #vegetables to mama mbogas (last mile vegetable vendors). The MF model aims to establish assured supply through #collaborations with profiled Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) while incorporating #traceability and #safety mechanisms to ensure #quality and reliability. By adopting the MF model, vendors will benefit from increased stability, reduced logistics costs, and improved access to a wider range of quality vegetables. Nutrition = investment that keeps on giving. We must work with climate actors, DFIs/IFIs, and businesses to align interests with nutrition. It's important to identify investable propositions for them. My new OpEd with Brieuc PONT shines a light on this.
