Hepatitis B Immunization Management for Children Born to Mothers with Hepatitis B Infection

Post-Vaccine Serological Testing (PVST)
Following the completion of the vaccination series, at 9 months of age, the child will need PVST, which includes HBsAg and HBsAb. This testing is done to confirm the child did not contact hepatitis B and is protected from contracting hepatitis B in the future.
- HBsAb negative (<10 mIU/mL) children should be revaccinated with an additional 3 dose series of hepatitis B vaccine

Notify the Kansas Department of Health and Environment of all PVST results, be sure to provide a copy of the test results. Use the Perinatal Report Form (PDF).
