歐盟數位市場法將生效!WSJ:蘋果將開放在 App Store 外側載
隨著歐盟《數位市場法》生效在即,據《華爾街日報》報導,蘋果將開放讓使用者在 App Store 之外的地方下載應用程式,不過會有一些新的費用以及限制。
《數位市場法》(DMA)即將在今年 3 月 7 日正式生效,包括蘋果在內的所有大型科技公司都必須遵守,包括 Google 母公司 Alphabet、Amazon、蘋果、TikTok 母公司字節跳動、Facebook 與 Instagram 母公司 Meta,以及 Microsoft。這項法案的目的在於使消費者更容易在數位科技服務之間切換轉移。對於蘋果而言,這項法案將打破該公司較為封閉的應用生態系統。
據《華爾街日報》報導,蘋果的這項計畫將「僅限於歐洲的 iOS 用戶」,歐盟使用者不需透過 App Store 就可將應用程式下載至 iPhone 上,這又被稱作側載(sideloading)。包括 Meta、Spotify 以及微軟現在正在為使用者準備新的下載選項。
雖然報導指出蘋果的計畫尚未最終確定(包括新的費用或限制),不過這項策略與該公司對其美國 App Store 政策做出的另一項重大改變是方向一致的。上週,隨著與 Epic 的官司落幕,蘋果正式改變了一項規則:美國開發者將可以透過 App Store 內的收費系統,讓使用者進行應用程式內購買,儘管開發商仍必須支付 27% 或 12%(規模較小的開發商)的高額蘋果稅。
值得注意的是,《華爾街日報》也報導,Meta 正在認真看待這項「機會」。報導指出,Meta 正在開發自己的一個計劃,該公司或將可透過 Facebook 廣告來讓使用者下載應用程式,這項內部計劃被稱為「Project Neon」。

最後,蘋果正面臨的挑戰不只這樁。據報,美國司法部正在準備對蘋果提起全面的反壟斷訴訟,最快可能在 2 月採取行動。
