There has been an unintended theme running through my last few photographs I have uploaded and that is light surrounded by darkness. I really hope that this year brings happiness to everyone this year.

I have only been to New York City a few times, but each time is very memorable. It is a city of contrasts–between the rich and the poor, the classy and the kitsch, the serious and the irreverent. Needless to say, it’s a great place for street photography.

A shot of the New Croton Dam. Surprisingly this beautiful place isn't located to far from the city. Me and the fiance took a trip up here despite the rain and grabbed some shots. I had brought my fishing pole with me but was unable to fish due to the rain. I would have tried though if I had the right rain gear :p

With northeast Pennsylvania’s trees in early blaze mode, a northbound Delaware & Hudson train rolls near the quiet borough of New Milford on its way from Scranton to Binghamton. Bicentennial TE56-4A (a Morrison-Knudsen rebuilt RS3) 506 and RS11 5002 are doing the honors.
i took a helicopter around the city
it was pouring rain right before take off so I was happy for the decent sunset.
Bought a new reflector to go with my flashes, and i was really,really surprised at how relective it was ......See :)

The New Croton Dam in Cortlandt, NY. This dam on the Croton River has created the New Croton Reservoir, part of NYC's water supply.
The dam is part natural (the left), part artificial, and too far from home to become a regular shooting location.
