About us

A resilient, just, and cleaner economy cannot be built without creating new frameworks for private capital owners. Owners possess specific levers to benefit people and planet, including their operating business with concentrated ownership, their investment vehicles, and their philanthropic platforms. When empowered and accountable for their companies over the long term, owners can become critical drivers of firm behaviour and performance and, as a group, a powerful catalyst for change. Through research, teaching, and convening, The Ownership Project provides a platform through which to empirically understand the impact of ownership on businesses, communities, and society — and the key factors shaping ownership for the future.
