    • £1,000 could help pay for 4 days of research. That’s 4 days for a researcher to better understand breast cancer, work on their project and find new ways to diagnose, treat and prevent the disease.
    • £11,000 could keep the Breast Cancer Now Tissue Bank running for a week. It’s full of samples of breast cancer tissue and it’s a crucial resource for our researchers.
    • £27,000 could fund the Breast Cancer Now Tony Robins Research Centre for a day. It’s home to over 70 scientists across 14 teams.

Our message to the new UK government: Our vision is that by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live and be supported to live well. We’re looking forward to working with the new UK government and setting out what they must do over the next 5 years to improve the lives of people affected by breast cancer. We’ll be working hard to achieve our vision and championing our priorities with MPs. We’ll campaign to ensure breast cancer is diagnosed early and fast, that new and effective treatments are developed and delivered, and to improve care and support for secondary breast cancer. From getting your MP to do their bit, to adding your voice to our calls on government – your support is vital. Together we can ensure the new government takes real action for people affected by breast cancer. Sign up for our campaign updates to find out how you can help. https://lnkd.in/ecFYDXYM

Co-production means that people affected by breast cancer work with us as equal partners. They have a say in the decisions that are made. And they help us think of new and innovative ways that we can be here for everyone affected by breast cancer. This #CoProWeek, Michaela and Zoe, our Here for You team, talk about their lived experience project group and the impact it’s had on the referral pathway. “It's important that we’re guided by the people that we want to support. And that we give them a voice and the power to make those decisions. So we wanted to have a group of people who have experienced breast cancer to help us co-create everything we do. “Sharing power and making decisions together helps us make informed decisions about what will work. And we’re able to reach more people and help more people get the support they need because of that. “Having that voice of experience is something that we should have as standard in in all that we do. Involving people with lived experience helps us make sure we're getting it right.” - Michaela and Zoe, our Here for You team. https://lnkd.in/eegzKd84

“I’ve been a member of the Voices community since 2021. I came across it whilst seeking other volunteer roles with Breast Cancer Now after a great experience as a patient advocate on the Service Pledge. “Volunteering with Voices is fun and never boring. Some of the current projects I’m really excited to be part of are all EDI-related, including joining the Improving Public Health, Equity and Wellbeing funding committee as a patient representative and projects to improve volunteer diversity and service inclusivity. “Collaborating on a diverse range of internal and external activities balances nicely alongside my work and personal commitments, and it’s empowering to be able to flex my time with Voices based on whatever else I have going on at that time.” - Anjli, a Breast Cancer Voice, talks about what it means to her. #CoProWeek is a chance for us to celebrate why working with people affected by breast cancer is so important. It has a positive impact, both for what we do, and the people who get involved in us. https://lnkd.in/ekE4rimR

The last global report analyzing the ABC landscape was published in 2015 and highlighted gaps in patient care, access to resources and support and treatment outcomes for women around the world. In a world constantly evolving, a deep assessment of progress over the past 10 years will be carried out. The results will be used to review and renew the ABC Global Charter and the actions for change for the next decade (2025-2035). If you are a patient with ABC or a healthcare professional who treats patients with ABC take the survey to help ABC Global Alliance understand your experiences: https://shorturl.at/1vM0N. OncoAlert

It’s co-production week! During #CoProWeek we’re highlighting why it’s important that people affected by breast cancer are involved in shaping our work. At Breast Cancer Now, we want to make sure that everything we do benefits people affected by breast cancer. And we can only do that by working with the people we’re here for, to understand what’s important to them and what they need. By hearing from and including people affected by breast cancer at every stage of our work, we can make sure that we’re getting things right. And it means that our work will have lasting benefit for the people we support. Read more about what we do, and how you can get involved in our work: https://lnkd.in/euaShVDn
