Inequalities in access to care are a major hurdle and lead to substantial differences in outcomes regarding ABC, not only between countries but also within each country. To better treat, ABC international consensus conferences are focused on updating the main recommendations on how to best manage patients with advanced breast cancer. These guidelines are based on available evidence or on expert opinion when a higher level of evidence is lacking. Find more about ABC guidelines 6 and 7: https://lnkd.in/dkyWA6Pa OncoAlert

Today we honor the other victims of Advanced Breast Cancer, because when people are not treated for ABC, there are always others affected. The father's second job or the dream that was not pursued by the daughter are some of the consequences that are not always in sight. Be part of the change and find out what you can do to help everyone get the treatment they deserve: https://ow.ly/ym4150SEkhu

At all stages of breast cancer, hidden costs and associated suffering can occur. These effects can be financial, physical, psychological, emotional, or social, and are considerable, varied, and far-reaching. They affect children, families, local communities, and wider society. The Lancet Breast Cancer Commission report shows glaring inequities, with many groups with breast cancer being systematically left behind and forgotten. On #GiveSomethingAwayDay we would like to acknowledge the collaboration with Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V. (German Breast Cancer Association), that allows us to provide wigs, prosthesis and bras to our members worldwide. This is a small gesture that can help patients living life with dignity despite the physical side effects and symptoms of their breast cancer. Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V.

In some care centers in France, up to 20% of patients do not speak French well. Consultation in pictures is a tool that recaps the different steps of the breast cancer patient’s journey in pictures. For use in consultations, helps HCPs explain to their patients what their disease is, what treatment they will have and what support is available. Find more about it: https://shorturl.at/ehqJd More projects from the Hard to Reach Toolkit available here https://lnkd.in/dhMYwSfi OncoAlert
