Former WWE Intercontinental Champion all set to join rivals AEW

With Ricochet’s deal with WWE over, it’s widely expected that the former United States and Intercontinental champion will sign with AEW. So far, there hasn’t been any confirmation from Tony Khan or his associates over if they’re going to sign Ricochet on the dotted lines. However, the wrestler’s agent has reportedly been spotted at an AEW show, and it might not be long before his client joins WWE’s current rivals in the market.

Ricochet had a fair share of memorable moments with WWE during his previous stint. The highflyer is well-known for his aerial abilities, and the way he uses the ring is special. However, a major push never really came, which kept him perennially on the sidelines.
This is perhaps the biggest reason for his refusal to extend his contract with WWE. He had already handed in his notice that he did not wish to extend his contract beyond July 1, and his last moments on air included a clash with Bron Breakker on Raw.
If he does sign on the dotted lines with AEW, it will be a great acquisition for Tony Khan and the company. Unlike some of the other wrestlers who switched from WWE, Ricochet is in his prime, and he could certainly become one of the brand's faces.

When it comes to storylines, the potential is endless. For the time being, fans will have to be patient until a deal is made official by all parties involved. Based on his agent’s presence at the Beach Break Dynamite show, it might not be long.
While Ricochet might soon be seen on AEW posters, his fiancee, Samantha Irvin, will continue with WWE for the time being. Samantha has become quite popular, especially in recent times, and her skills as a ring announcer are unrivalled at the moment.
A couple of days ago, she wrote a heartfelt message on the occasion of Ricochet’s departure. The two made their relationship public towards the end of 2021 and have been going strong since.
