Explore how we approached testing a game that is designed to be chaotic, full of hidden surprises, double meanings, and a main character prone to slapstick clumsiness. For Goat Simulator 3, our team at Player Research needed to gain a deep understanding of Coffee Stain North’s intended player experience to come up with impactful recommendations on how to keep the chaos without compromising the game's usability or fun. As an example: is it considered part of the intended experience for a play tester to spend twenty five minutes climbing on a church roof, trying to headbutt church bells in a specific order, dressed as a goat wearing a Santa hat and a tutu 🐐🎅🩰⛪? No spoilers - read our case study here: https://loom.ly/Nigo34A #GamesIndustry

💡Our Globalize team wrapped up #LocWorld51 and #GameQualityForum in June. Dominick Kelly, our Localization Technology Solutions Director, attended both events in Dublin and Amsterdam. Check out his key learnings and insights from a game localization perspective. "Now more than ever, it's important to be curious about adopting solutions in collaboration with clients. Understanding how new technologies can add real value to a game development team and how to deploy them safely is vital. Not every game development process needs to chase the latest craze because not all AI products out there are suited for our clients' needs in the first place. Events like these are a fantastic opportunity to keep up with innovation across the industry. At LocWorld, I was honoured to hop on stage with Ruth Granados from Bethesda, who talked about the use of AI to properly categorise each piece of content in a game, automate metadata capture, and label it to minimise contextual errors throughout localization and quality assurance steps. Cristina Anselmi and Amanda Hawthorne from Electronic Arts do some brilliant work that focuses on making AI and Machine Translation more gender inclusive. At Game Quality Forum, Matt Ditton from Mighty Build and Test shared automation workflow best practices after having implemented our solution into the development process of 12 different games. All this innovation is not simple or easy to achieve but it makes my heart sing to see so many pioneers coming together to design ways to create better global player and customer experiences." 💙 Thank you to everyone who came around to network, exchange knowledge, and ask challenging questions. We hope to see you at gamescom! #L10N #FQA #LQA #ArtificialIntelligence

We're incredibly proud to see our trailer for A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead out in the world! 🤫 Having amassed a million views and counting on Youtube, we're delighted to see all of the positive reactions to our first look at this highly anticipated hold-your-breath horror. We designed the trailer in Unreal Engine 5, utilising entirely in-game assets, which we elevated with custom animation, set dressing, camera, lighting and VFX. The result is a cinematic sequence that feels bespoke and hand-crafted, yet remains true to the games visual style and player experience. We love this in-engine approach - balancing the cinematic polish of an animated trailer with the authenticity of gameplay. As always, we've had a great time scrolling through the comments on the video and seeing everyone's reactions. Some of our favourites so far include: - "A RESOUNDING but quiet, YES!!!!!" - "That's how you make a trailer" - "Yoooo I was not ready for this 😲" - "Absolutely loved the trailer and super excited for it 🎉" - "Anyone else hold their breath the entire trailer? 😂" - "Add to cart, yes please 😊" - "And this has now become my most anticipated game for the latter half of 2024 🔥🔥🔥" #VideoGameTrailers #VideoGames #HorrorGames

🦈🏊 Will a shark in the Seine be an imminent threat to triathletes swimming in it during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris next month? Highly unlikely, we thought—until our in-seine-ly talented linguists at Keywords Studios LA said they heard otherwise... Check out the sous-perb subtitles for Netflix's shark movie 'Under Paris' ('Sous la Seine'), making it more accessible in French, English, Catalan, Basque, Finnish, Filipino, Galician, Hungarian, and Brazilian Portuguese. Thank you, Netflix, for letting us take a deep dive into this story, which tackles some very timely and topical world events. Be sure to stream this movie, unless you're a triathlete participating in the Summer Olympics. You have been warned! #MediaAndEntertainment
