Being listed among the top 500 companies globally that are making a significant positive impact on our planet is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and innovation. This recognition reflects our ongoing efforts to integrate sustainable practices across all aspects of our operations and to lead by example in the fight against climate change. At Danfoss we integrate sustainability in everything we do. It is at the core of our business and value chain. We turn words into action. It is in our DNA. We strive to position and enable our customers to drive the green transition. We have defined three sustainable focus areas where we aim to make a significant step-change: ✅ Decarbonization: we help our customers decarbonize through our energy-efficient solutions and ensure carbon neutrality in our operations. ✅Circularity: we innovate best-in-class circular and safe products that minimize waste and promote recycling and reuse. ✅Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: fostering an environment where every voice is heard, and diversity is celebrated. We engineer tomorrow to build a better future. Close partnerships have never been more important. We need deeper collaboration across the entire value chain to systemically drive down emissions fast enough to meet the overarching goal of the UN Paris Agreement. Seeing is believing! In our new series Decarbonization Explained, we bring industry experts, partners, and customers together to share best practice on how we can speed up decarbonization of industry, transport, buildings and energy systems. We already have most of the solutions and technology needed to accelerate climate action. Now, we invite all to share learnings across industries and sectors to reach our common sustainability goals. Our strategic approach to sustainability is based on strong partnerships and remains the same whether we apply it to our own business or decarbonize with our customers. A single ton of CO2 takes up significant space in our atmosphere — almost as much as a hot air balloon. How many balloons’ worth of CO2 does the transport industry create in a single year? Around 8 billion. Electrification has the power and potential to mitigate that. Our Danfoss Editron and Semikron Danfoss divisions make it more possible than ever before, as we demonstrated in our recent e-truck road trip to Le Mans. The technology is ready. Our solutions are available. Let’s decarbonize together. See electrification powered by Danfoss in action. With construction machinery emitting 400 metric tons of CO2 annually, decarbonizing construction equipment is key to meeting our climate goals. Technologies that increase productivity while reducing carbon emissions and operating costs are available. With solutions such as digital displacement, Danfoss is leading the way in decarbonization of heavy-duty machines. In Danfoss North America’s recent EnVisioneering Exchange #podcast, “Decarbonizing Construction with Digital Displacement,” Luke Wadsley of Danfoss Power Solutions discusses digital displacement technology and its potential to decarbonize the construction industry by reducing carbon emissions and energy losses from hydraulic #excavators. Check out the excerpt below and listen to the full episode: https://bit.ly/44AEyaS #Decarbonization #DigitalDisplacement #EnVisioneeringExchange

In Reynosa, Mexico, the Danfoss Power Solutions' Fluid Conveyance plant has taken a remarkable leap towards responsible resource management. By capturing and reusing the water formed inside their air-conditioning systems, they have successfully reduced water consumption. The factory’s technicians have designed a piping system that channels the captured water to various storage tanks within the facility. From here, the water is efficiently distributed to employee toilets, production processes requiring water, and the irrigation system. Operating nearly non-stop, the plant collects over 6 million liters of water annually through its 18 large air-conditioning systems. This impressive achievement has led to a remarkable 65.5% reduction in the factory's total annual water usage, in line with our 2030 ESG ambition. In a compelling conversation with POLITICO Pro Morning Trade Europe, Kim Fausing, Danfoss President & CEO, urges Europe to “shift gears” to reclaim its competitiveness and establish a robust green industrial base.    “Europe is falling behind, and we need to shift gears based on this, and get this focus back from more bureaucratic to more growth-oriented, focus on competitiveness and productivity and … then double down on the green transition, because it’s the core of driving competitiveness,” Fausing told POLITICO in an interview.    For the industry, building a domestic green industrial base has three components, Fausing argued: more efficient infrastructure, energy reuse from data centers and infrastructure and, finally, transitioning to renewables.    Asked whether there’s a greater need for subsidies in Europe, Fausing pointed to the US Inflation Reduction Act, arguing: “I think that’s what we need to learn in Europe, that we need something that is effective now, not in five years from now, because the train has left the station.”   Fausing also stressed that he is calling for a “more progressive, not a defensive” view of Europe. He pointed to a tracker developed by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, which finds that out of 44 so-called critical technologies, Europe doesn’t lead on a single one.    “It means we need to change our mindset and be much more clear about where we want to make a difference and to win,” he said.   Read the full conversation with Antonia Zimmermann from POLITICO Europe here (Politico PRO subscriber content): https://lnkd.in/eQB-Dr-s #GreenTransition #EngineeringTomorrow #WhyEE #EnergyEfficiency

Happy Pride Month 🌈 At Danfoss, we take Pride in the diversity of our people. They are the foundation of our success. As part of our continuous efforts to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive, we established 46 active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). They are globally organized under five themes: Abilities, Gender, Generations, Multicultural and Nations and Pride. Danfoss’ ERGs create an environment of belonging through communities of shared identity and interests. They also help us identify and remove existing barriers for inclusion. As we celebrated Pride Month, our Pride ERGs took the lead in promoting organizational understanding on how to be a good ally — an essential building block for an inclusive and safe workplace. As global Pride celebrations end, our joint efforts with our Pride ERGs continue. We are committed to shaping Danfoss into an even more inclusive workplace where everyone thrives and has a sense of belonging, regardless of how they identify. Happy Pride! This week, we celebrated International Women in Engineering Day! Our Employee Resource Group, Women at Danfoss STEM section organized a panel discussion and networking event focusing on career development in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). We were honored to host a discussion that included: Carley Maupin, Senior Specialist People Analytics, Danfoss; Nanna Aage Lundsgaard, Vice President, Head of RD&E Hydronics, Danfoss; Leire Chávarri Remiro, Data Scientist, Digital Services, Danfoss; and Laura Klitgaard, President of IDA, Danish Society of Engineers. The panel focused on the different career tracks we have in Danfoss, particularly specialist roles, project/program management, and people leaders. The panelists shared about the opportunities they’ve experienced to apply STEM skills across many functions, develop further skills on the job, and transition to different career roles. Although the number of women in STEM careers is growing, a significant gender gap persists across the globe. As an engineering company and one of the world’s top female-friendly workplaces, Danfoss is committed to addressing this gap. Increasing the representation of women and supporting their career development at all levels is a top priority. We continue to invest in initiatives for women candidates to find fulfilling careers in STEM and beyond at our many locations worldwide. At Danfoss, we are proud to involve suppliers in our decarbonization journey as partnership leads to results. Take our supplier Staalservice A/S. They said goodbye to black electricity and natural gas just weeks after participating in Danfoss Green Ask – an initiative where we engage and motivate suppliers to cut emissions through collaboration, training, and sharing of data with Danfoss. Read full story here: https://lnkd.in/eQcf9hdH By 2030, we aim for all of our +100 factories globally to be CO2-neutral. We also want to cut emissions from the goods and services we receive from suppliers by 25 percent compared to a 2019 baseline.
