Today, one of our new, large e-trucks embarked on a journey from Denmark to Le Mans, France, to coincide with the 24-hour Le Mans race event. Our 20-ton and 17-meter-long e-truck will be joining what the organizers call “the world’s biggest electric road trip”. The caravan of EVs will pass through five countries and cover a distance of more than 1,300 kilometers. More than one in five cars sold worldwide this year is expected to be electric, according to the new edition of the IEA’s annual Global EV Outlook, and even though we expect surging demand over the next decade, recently we have seen short term set-backs, especially due to ‘Stop & Go’ policies and range anxiety. With key components like Semikron Danfoss SKAI HV traction inverters, and the Danfoss Editron ED3 onboard charger, our e-trucks prove that it is possible to cover longer distances already today. While celebrating Le Mans, we also want to use the opportunity to demonstrate that it is possible to electrify and decarbonize transport to a much greater extent than is commonly perceived today.
