BASF intensifies cooperation with our partner CPERI to advance innovation 🔊 Partnering with renowned Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CPERI) ramps up: We were happy to host Angelos Lappas, Director at CPERI and his team from Greece during this week at #Ludwigshafen, to exchange, brainstorm and identify complementary capabilities in the #cleantech space. Specifically, BASF’s leading catalyst solutions for the #sustainability #transformation in areas like #emethanol, #plastics #recycling, #cleanfuels and #renewables will benefit from further deepening ties, and tapping into CPERI’s vast knowledge and testing capabilities. We had the great opportunity to discuss with our industry solutions to convert biomass to energy and to further push carbon capture and utilization. Our own Sanjay Bineewale presented our portfolio for the utilization of CO₂ feedstocks to produce downstream chemicals. Thumbs up for Sorbead and Durasorb! Our BASF Chemical Catalysts and Adsorbents Nienburg/Germany site keeps on implementing new technical features to support the continued growth of #Durasorb® and #Sorbead® applications. We recently had a review of new installations including improved energy integration that will cut down our use of electrical power significantly. Even though the site runs already today on green electricity, it is even better to recover and utilize process energy instead! Many of our team members have completed their vocational training with us years ago, and have grown to be leaders at the site today. They know the plant inside-out and continue to come up with new ways to simplify processes and improve productivity. Continuous improvement at its best! Products made in Nienburg are used for example in the production of green hydrogen, or downstream of carbon capture and utilization units (CCU) – all of these applications are key to the transition to net carbon zero. 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐅 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 🤝 BASF and China Bluechemical Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of a Green & C1 Advanced Chemical Technology Joint Laboratory. The goal of this collaboration is to create a joint innovation platform that focuses on the development of sustainable, green, and low-carbon technologies for the chemical industry. 🔎 BASF and China BlueChem intend to work together on the development of sustainable technologies in areas such as CO₂ to Syngas Technology (CO₂TS), green methanol and green ammonia applications, generation and purification of green hydrogen, synthesis of green olefins or the oligomerization and hydrogenation of green olefins to produce sustainable aviation fuel products (e-fuel, e-SAF). The goal of the joint laboratory is to promote the industrialization by developing and implementing tangible and sustainable solutions. 🍀BASF processs catalysts is enabling the transition to carbon emissions reduction in the chemical industry with its sustainable #catalysts and #adsorbents.
