Deep dive enzyme stability: Shelf-life stability Immediately after the production of an enzyme, a slow aging process starts decreasing enzyme activity over time. This process is influenced by several factors: the intrinsic stability of the enzyme, its formulation, the packaging of the product and the storage conditions. To ensure long shelf life of our feed enzymes, extensive stability tests under challenging conditions like 40 °C and 75 % humidity are an integral part of our development process. Based on that, we can guarantee a shelf life of 24 months for our new mannanase Natupulse® TS when stored at or below 20 °C.   Visit the Natupulse® TS website to learn more! https://lnkd.in/euYz84cn   #enzymes #feedenzymes #animalfeed #mannanase #sustainability

𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘇𝘆𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 Roughly 50 % of the total volume of feed for pigs and poultry worldwide is pelleted. There are good reasons for it as pelleting can prevent separation of feed ingredients, improve starch digestibility, and increase energy consumption of the animal. However, high pelleting temperatures can be a challenge for feed enzymes and even lead to a loss of activity. Thus, a high thermostability is key for enzymes ensuring they can show their full potential in the gastrointestinal tract.   This is why we have placed great emphasis on thermostability in the development of our new mannanase Natupulse® TS. We had a great time at the XIX National aquaculture conference 2024 in Las Palmas Spain! We really enjoyed the interesting presentations and talks around latest scientific advancements in aquaculture nutritional physiology and health. The congress also emphasized the framework for a sustainable and cost-effective aquaculture production, which was well received. One highlight was a discussion on how feed additives such as organic acids and enzymes can help with current challenges in aquaculture resulting from plant-based protein in aqua feed. Insects as a source of protein, phytase application in aquafeed and algae as source of fish oil were some of the solutions discussed to improve the performance and health status of cultured fish.  Our team proudly presented a scientific study from BASF technical expert Dr. Ehab Aboelsaadat which has been conducted in cooperation with the Department of Aquaculture Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). The study evaluated the effects of a mixture of formic acid and sodium formate (Amasil® NA) on key performance indicators, gut morphology and disease resistance in juvenile gilthead sea bream. The results highlight the potential of this combination as a feed efficiency enhancer in gilthead sea bream in high plant protein-based diets.      To access the full article in Science Direct, visit: https://lnkd.in/ev6rF4eB   #animalnutrition #animalfeed #aquaculture #feed #sustainability

Exciting news: We are thrilled to announce that our innovative mannanase enzyme Natupulse® TS has received EU regulatory approval for all poultry species for fattening and ornamental birds! ß-mannans belong to non-starch polysaccharides (NSPs) which are part of the undigestible fraction in commercial diets. They cannot be hydrolyzed by the bird and are not degraded by enzymes such as xylanase and glucanase. More from less: Our new mannanase Natupulse® TS is specifically targeting the ß-mannans and helps to unlock valuable nutrients, making feed more cost-effective and sustainable. Feeding trials with Natupulse® TS show additional positive effect on nutrient digestibility when added on top of Natuphos® E (phytase) and Natugrain® TS (xylanase and glucanase)! Manufactured at our BASF site in Ludwigshafen, Germany, Natupulse® TS is available in powder and liquid form. Both formulations deliver excellent overall stability – during storage, in premix and under challenging conditions in the pelleting process.
