Last night The Rions played the final leg of their completely sold out Australian ‘Sweet Cocoons Tour’ at the Metro Theatre in Sydney, and I was lucky enough to see this high energy show at Melbourne’s 170 Russell….twice!
Each night, 1100 people packed into the Russell street night club where fans sang every song at the top of their lungs, right back at the 20 year olds hailing from Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
The Rions’ success did not happen overnight. UNIFIED signed the band to a management agreement back in 2020 and since then, the band has won Triple J - ABC’s prestigious Unearthed High competition, posted multiple songs in the Hottest 100, and toured non-stop in and around high school schedules.
Now with school behind them, there is nothing but excitement about the future for this promising young band. If their new single ‘Sweet Cocoon’ (released via Community Music) is any insight into what’s to come over the next year, then you can expect big things.
UNIFIED works every day to invest in talent and build careers. Whilst it’s never been easy to make it in the music industry, The Rions are proof that anything is possible and I’m excited to be a part of their continued success as they head off on their European tour from August.
