In addition to completing the Common Application, you may also need to audition, submit a portfolio, or take a subject test, depending on which of our schools you choose to enter.

Liberal Studies Core Program & Global Liberal Studies
Any student wanting to be considered for admission to the first-year away program at NYU London, NYU Madrid, or NYU Florence must be 18 before beginning their studies.
Tandon School of Engineering
Competitive applicants to the Tandon School of Engineering should have Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus (or at least Precalculus) on their transcript.
The Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development
Music
An audition, portfolio, or supplemental application is required for all Music programs. More information can be found here.
Studio Art
A portfolio with an artist statement is required and should be submitted to the art department. Visit the program’s website to learn more about submitting your portfolio, including deadlines.
For programs that require an audition or portfolio we strongly recommend you submit your application one month in advance to ensure ample time to prepare your audition or portfolio.
Stern School of Business
If submitting 3 AP exam scores or 3 IB Higher Level Scores (if not an IB Diploma Candidate) for standardized testing, please include one literature or humanities score, one math score, and a score from one test in any subject of your choosing. Applicants should have Calculus or, at the very least, Precalculus on their transcript.
