The SATSA “This is Us” 2024 Conference will highlight the important relationship between the government and the tourism industry. “We’ve built a positive relationship with the Minister of Tourism,” says SATSA Chairperson Oupa Pilane, who is also optimistic about the recent cabinet appointments and their potential impact on tourism. “We are looking forward to creating very strong bonds with every sphere of government to address the challenges facing our sector.” Looking forward to the upcoming event, Pilane says there’s nothing that pleases him more than seeing women and men in the tourism industry sitting together, chatting happily, laughing, and building relationships. “Each time I'm at those conferences, I become a new person. I feel like I've got no problems because everyone is there to support each other.” Open to members and non-members, the event creates the perfect environment for industry unity. “No man is an island. You cannot do this thing called tourism alone,” Pilane said. “SATSA is a family unit and we support each other.” Read more >>> https://lnkd.in/dxFnNmjg #ThisIsUs #SATSA #SATSAConference2024 #Storytelling #InboundTourism

Time is ticking to register for the SATSA “This is Us” 2024 Conference. There are a handful of seats left and registration closes on 5 August! Whether you're a member or non-member, you don't want to miss out on the incredible lineup of expert storytellers, ready to share their experiences and wisdom with you. We're also looking forward to hearing your story, as we journey through the chapters of South African tourism and our shared experiences. These are only some of the storytellers who will be there: Andre du Toit is a man of many talents and strives to always see the positive side of a situation. He considers the highlight of his career as being part of the SATIB team – which went above and beyond to assist clients and communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. When Andre’s not scoping out new business development opportunities, he enjoys spending time in African nature. Dalfrenzo Laing started his tourism career in the Napier Tourism Office, as part of the first-ever marine guiding course in the country, which mixed marine education with nature training. Eight months later, he became a marine guide at De Hoop Nature Reserve and now he’s the Assistant General Manager for the De Hoop Collection. Today, he is one of the most experienced marine guides in the country. Gillian Saunders, a tourism specialist who advises private and public sector clients (including SATSA, the Tourism Business Council of South Africa and the Tony Blair Institute), has experience delivering destination and tourism marketing strategies and plans, and works on many aspects of feasibility, market development, economic and social impacts across the industry. Litha Carl Nkombisa has international experience in car rental and leasing, as well as the automotive, banking and financial services industries. He has worked for large organisations like Barloworld, BMW and Nedbank, and is currently the Chief Sales Executive at Zeda Limited (formerly Avis). Litha has been involved in major fleet and leasing contracts with corporate, government and state-owned enterprises for the past 17 years. As well as being the Treasurer for SATSA, Trevor HEWETT is the Founder of African Pride Tours. His passion for travel, sports and wildlife has taken him to most of Africa’s top safari destinations and lodges, and across five continents. Join us and become one of the storytellers at the SATSA “This is Us” 2024 Conference. You don't want to miss out!
