Noxolo Daniel - Quality Assurance & Development Manager, shared an inspiring and heartwarming story about the success of the Basic Quality Verification program rolled out in KwaZulu-Natal. To further promote inclusive economic growth in the tourism sector, the BQV program utilises the skills of unemployed tourism graduates who are trained as evaluators in their local areas. The Basic Quality Verification project provides a structured approach that builds confidence in many accommodation products, especially those in rural areas. This enables tourism products that do not meet the core requirements of grading to access trade with the support of the tourism sector, and it provides access to funding opportunities to develop their offerings to meet formal grading requirements over time.
