[READ] South Africa’s reputation as an adventure capital continues to soar. In 2023, adventure tourists made up 8.8% of the country’s arrivals. These adventure enthusiasts stayed five nights longer and spent almost three times more than the average tourist. Europe led the way with 65% of overall arrivals, followed by North America. Western Cape was the adventure hotspot, accounting for 85% of all adventure tourists and 62% of overall spending. But let’s not forget the hidden gems that our beautiful country has to offer. For instance, the subtropical KZN beaches are a must-visit, especially during our winter season. With a sea temperature of 20°C, the sardine run, and whale migration, these experiences can be seamlessly linked with a visit to Kruger or other game areas.
