This is a beautiful plaza with one restaurant after another. My favorite place in Barcelona without a doubt. It is a combination of busy and restful at the same time.

On our visit to Barcelona we knew the Placa Reial was on the list of must see places. After a full morning of Goudi and scenic views of the city from every corner, we just happened to stumble into the Placa Reial. Easy check mark and such fun! We were able to get a table at one venue for lunch right on the square, and another great seat from a different vantage point for dinner and had great meals while being entertained by the various street performers who do their show for the hopes of a Euro or two (or more) by the viewers. So much activity and fun just to watch the people as you take in the history of your location and all that has happened in this incredible space.
Recommend you bring coins for the performers and space on your camera for the many pictures you will want to take. Also, a good size appetite for the many, many good options all around the square to eat and sip through the afternoon and into the night!

This a very popular tourist and busy square. It comes to life at night.
The perimeter is scattered with bars restaurants and clubs.
We dined at a lovely restaurant nad you will find many different types of performers.

This part of Barcelona is near La Rambla as it’s a square area with cafes,tapas bars with a fountain and large palm trees..very pretty and great to sit and relax for a few hours.Go early to get a seat.The buildings are beautiful too.

Just a block away from Las Ramblas this plaza is like another world with solemn relaxing atmosphere and restaurants all around. Loved it

One of the most charming and vibrant spaces in the city, it was great to relax for a time amongst the lovely surrounds.
A centrepiece is the attractive fountain with figures of Three Graces under the canopy. All around are elegant buildings atop grand porticoes.
A further attraction is the decorative street lamps designed by a young Antoni Gaudi.

Placa Reial is just off the Ramble in the Barri Gotic and the square is a beautiful oasis. It is lined with restaurant and bars under the colonade and gives it a feeling of a city within the city.
The square hosts a book market from time to time, and its centre piece is the fountain by Gaudi, who was a very versatile artist. From the windows of our hotel in south west corner, we had a splendid view of city life. My favourite place for paëlla, Les Quinze Nits, is one of the many restaurants along the colonnade.

How safe is Plaça Reial? I stayed here in the late 90s and it was the home of drug dealers, has it improved? I want to take my kids!

We saw none of it. Plenty of high profile police from time to time. Drugs obvious in some streets nearby.

Come arrivare in questa piazza dall aereoporto? Dato che soggiorneremo proprio lì a breve?
Ho letto la metro liceu molto vicina ? Qlk sa il percorso non vorremmo camminare tanto a piedi dato il caldo e due stive con due bagagli a mano!!! Grazie

la metro arriva sino al centro e le fermate sulla rambla danno la possibilità di arrivare alla placa real con pochi passi a piedi

Ho letto che meglio evitare come zona barrio gotico e ravel se così si scrivono...
Visto che soggiorneremo proprio vicino Plaza ryal ad agosto p ultima settimana volevo sapere è vero?
Quali sono le zone da abitate notte e giorno ? Soprattutto notte ?
La metro luceu molto vicina al nostro hotel e ben collegata ??
