They offer a guided tour to the congress which is interesting. Please note that is offered in Portuguese only, but even if you don’t speak the language you happen to see some interesting parts of the congress.

The one hour tour of this building features visits to both chambers and various other places in between. The building is a masterpiece in architecture and well worth looking around the exterior as well as interior. There are complimentary postcards offered where you can send them to anywhere postage paid by Congresso Nacional which adds a nice touch to this already great attraction where there is no price of admission. Tours in English are available at the weekend, or if you join a weekday tour it will be in Portuguese and you'll be handed a six page printout to guide you through thre tour. Well worth visiting.

This is another iconic building designed by Oscar Niemeyer in the 1960’s. This is where the Brazilian Parliament sit and unfortunately we were told no tours were available the day we visited. Foreigners need their passports. You cannot wear shorts only long trousers/jeans. Two tours a day are provided by English speaking guides.
Since the riots and the storming of the Congress building earlier this year, security has significantly increased at Government and other important buildings. They even have security sat sound each of the saucers to prevent graffiti being daubed on them.

This is my favourite out of all of Oscar Neimeyer’s designs. It is bold and unusual and I just couldn’t stop looking at it!
Inside they offer you a free post card of the building which you are encouraged to fill in and then they will send it for free! A nice touch and good marketing.

Free tour in portugues, or with paper material to read in english, with a guide on weekends and hollydays you can go to visit free of charge the Congresso Nacional, You will visit Senate and Parliament and officies and many of Halls inside.

I visited the exterior of the Congresso Nacional as part of a 3-hour city tour with Rianha da Paz Turismo arranged my my hotel. Our English-speaking guide, Iraquemes Lamdivar, explained how the city was designed by Lucio Costa and that many of the most prominent buildings were designed by Arq, Oscar Neimeyer. While I had seen photos of various Neimeyer buildings it was remarkable to see them in place as part of Costa's layout for the city. The position of the complex at the Plaza of the Three Powers, at the end of a the Monument Axis is extraordinary. Don't miss it!

The buildings are iconic and familiar from photos but they look amazing from up close. Especially the reflections in the water - don’t stay up on the road where the tour buses stop - go down the hill to see the reflections.

Perhaps the most photographed landmark of Brasilia, the Congresso is also an excellent destination for a free tour of the inside of this iconic symbol of the city. Reserve an English tour in advance...well worth it! Our tour visited both chambers, the Green Hall, Time Tunnel, and various annexes. Great tour of an amazing and truly beautiful building. Interesting to hear about the various adjustments that have been made to the structure (e.g. no longer using the ramp, addition of the reflecting pools, etc.). Highly recommend!

Hi Asu, According the Congress site , besides portuguese language the are offered in english too. According the site : " Tours are offered in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS). Weekday tours in languages other than Portuguese must be booked at least until 5 p.m. of the previous day. Weekend tours in English take place on 10:15 am and 4:15 p.m. Weekend tours in Spanish, French and Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) are available, however they must be booked in advance via email to visite@senado.leg.br." Não precisa ser um traje formal, mas aconselhável
Que não seja algo que vá ferir o código de posturas, assim bermudas, calções e saias curtas serão roupas que sofrerão restrições

Boa tarde. Você só precisa fazer reserva se for para um grupo, caso contrario não tem à necessidade. Com relação a horário, se não me falha a memória, pode fazer todos os dias. Só precisa se atentar para os trajes se for durante a semana, pois, como eles estão trabalhando não pode ir de bermuda, final de semana pode ir mais a vontade.

Olá, estarei passando por Brasilia com pouco tempo e é em um sábado. Gostaria de saber se tem como conhecer o Congresso por dentro rapidamente (apenas tirar fotos), sem que seja necessária toda a visita guiada pois não terei tempo. Funciona dia de sábado e é possível entrar, conhecer e sair? Agradeço.

É possível sim. Aos sábados e domingos há possíbiidade de ter visita guiada que são ótimas, mas se chegares às 10h é possível visitar sem ater-se as explicações.

Olá Lucas, não tenho certeza, mas acredito que no período do carnaval os prédios públicos estarão fechados, eu o aconselho a verificar nos sites se abrirão ou não. É só pesquisar na internet sobre os pontos turísticos de Brasília.

Olá, boa noite. Indico o Garvey Park Hotel. É muito bem localizado. Fica no Setor Hoteleiro Norte, a cerca de 200/300m do Brasília Shopping (um dos melhores da cidade), onde tem-se bosn restaurantes, lojas diversas, etc. O Garvey está bem perto do Congresso Nacional, mais ou menos 8 minutos de taxi. É um hotel barato, inclui café da manhã e a localização é excelente.

em dias úteis, é proibida a entrada de pessoas vestindo bermudas, shorts, camisas sem mangas, minissaias e chinelos. Essas restrições não se aplicam a crianças de até 12 anos de idade.
Não é necessário vestir um terno ou gravata para a visita. Para realizar a visita basta estar com uma calça, camisa e sapatos fechados. Para as mulheres recomenda-se calça comprida, camisa com manga, vestido ou saia na altura do joelho. Durante a semana, o prédio é local de trabalho de parlamentares e servidores e, frequentemente, acontecem sessões solenes e especiais que exigem o uso de traje formal.
Só que, muitas vezes, os visitantes podem se esquecer dessas regras e acabam sendo “barrados” nas portarias da Câmara dos Deputados ou do Senado Federal.
“Para esses casos existe uma saída, que é o uso de uma calça de TNT vendida pela Lojinha da Câmara. Cada calça custa R$ 5,00 e é descartável. O cidadão pode colocar por cima da bermuda ou do short e realizar o tour sem problemas com a vestimenta” explica Aguirre Estorilio, Assessor Técnico do Programa Visite o Congresso.
A opção está à venda no quiosque que fica no Salão Negro e também na própria lojinha, em frente à entrada do Salão Branco/Chapelaria, aberta todos os dias, inclusive feriados.
Mas lembre-se: em algumas circunstâncias ou locais, como a Tribuna de Honra do Plenário do Senado ou o Salão Verde da Câmara, é exigido dos homens o uso de terno e gravata. Em caso de dúvida, entre em contato!
