for a few days could be a smart choice considering the high prices of Waikiki

Reviewed Jul 21, 2022via mobile
At first glance this place could appear inappropriate for mature people cause semiprivate rooms are located in the same place of the dorms but...if you are looking for a spartan place where sleeping only, this could perfect. The hostel is well runned, with its rules and its hours, none will disturbs your sleeping. So I think that for a few days could be a smart choice considering the high prices of Waikiki.

This is a good hostel, with non frills dorms and service. The staff is sometimes unhelpful as many of them are volunteers only staying for a little while. Location is great and you meet so many interesting people!!

This was my first hosteling experience since the covid pandemic began, and it was a very positive one. The staff were friendly, laid-back and efficient, and there was a great mix of opportunities to chat/visit with other travelers and also being given plenty of space if you wanted it.

This didn't feel like a party hostel -- just a nice, sociable place with a smallish kitchen tacked onto a good-sized common area that included some hammocks. Lots of fridge space (and I think freezer space too, didn't check). Loaner beach gear was available too, although if you snooze you lose (except for the general-purpose floaties -- there seemed to be loads of those).

I stayed in a semi-private room (a private room that was accessed by walking through a dorm, and also shared a bathroom with the dorm). It overlooked Lemon Rd, which was very noisy in the evening and morning. I'm still giving it five stars for sleep quality because I should have closed the window and used the air conditioner -- but I have lots of practice sleeping through noise so I just dealt with it. Your mileage might vary if you're a light sleeper.

The mattresses were your basic coil-spring hostel mattresses. A little loud when you get on and off, and on the firm side, but fine to sleep on. There were good-size lockers in the dorm room, but all I had to do was lock my door.

Speaking of: You can use your smartphone to unlock the doors, but I really appreciated having the option of a manual PIN for unlocking the doors, so that I didn't have to take my phone out to the beach.

I would absolutely stay here again next time I'm in Waikiki.

Room tip: Watch out for rooms overlooking Lemon Rd - might be noisy (earplugs?)

For the price, you get a place to sleep. Older woman, traveling alone, and I would return.
No elevator, almost died climbing to 4th floor.
Did not spend the night, but took a nap. It was a bit noisy, but I managed to fall asleep.
Sweeping could have been better, found sand under lockers when my hand sanitizer fell underneath and got covered.

I have stayed in this hostel a couple of times during the months of February March and April. Everytime I came back I was received in open arms, and all my requests was kindly answered by the staff.
Very spacious and comfortable, lots of free stuff, located super close to the beach and the park - best location in Waikiki in my opinion
Cleaning everyday and even changes my towel and sheets whenever I asked.
I highly appreciate the mangers and staff’s willingness to help at any time !!
Highly and warmly recommended :)
