Just got back from Sol Cayo Coco last night, and wanted to share while eveything is fresh in my memory. Very close to airport, so if you don’t like to spend a lot of time on the bus, this is a bonus. It’s a small older resort, but the grounds are impeccable. Lobby, very welcoming, lots of seating. Lobby bar is 24 hours, and has amazing cappuccino, even at 4 am 🙂 Lobby entertainment every night, and the shows are great. The pool is steps away from the lobby, situated in the middle of the resort. The rooms surround it. Pool bar opens 10, and on several of our days we even had pool side service. Lots of loungers and shade, no need to rush down and save a chair. There is a snack bar at the pool as well, that makes amazing pizza, and make the best fries I’ve ever had (and I don’t like fries!) The entertainment team has something on the go throughout the day. They work really hard to ensure everyone has a great time, but not pushy if you’d rather not participate. There is also music around the pool all day. Pool is very clean. For anyone with mobility issues, the main area does not have a walk in option, but on the other side near spa, it’s a bit quieter, and can walk in. The spa, very small, one massage therapist, but she’s amazing, and it’s very cute and quaint. Trust me, this is worth a few $’s spent. The ocean is a few feet away, with a beach bar and grill, there is also washrooms located there. The beach was cleaned everyday, soft sand, lots of loungers and plenty of shady spots, music and activities. Resort washrooms, all the washrooms on site are incredibly clean, including the beach bar one. Rooms. We did an ocean view. Absolutely spectacular few. Rooms are basic, but have what you need. A/c worked great, and we always had hot water, although a few of our friends struggled with lukewarm water. Housekeeping did a great job, and our fridge was always stocked with water, we did also get beer, but only because we did a superior package. If I had to complain about thr room, it would be a lack of coffee makers.. disclaimer here.. I did email a head a request one, we did get it, but no coffee or cups lol.. I guess I should have been more specific. Food, you will never go hungry, unless you are very picky.. although the buffet did not offer a big variety, and some breakfast items where not typical breakfast, there was still lots.. they did have eggs every day, so you could choose ans omelette ect, bread, butter, cereals. I did find their fresh fruit selection limited if that’s your thing. If you are a condiment person, bring your own. We are not really, so we were fine, but no ketchup, jams, peanut butter, ect. They always had salt. One little gift shop on site, so if you like to shop ect, you’ll have to make your way to the little market, about 5 minutes away. Now the biggest highlight for us was the staff. We’ve been to Cuba many times, and fortunately have always had a good experience. The resort staff here does not disappoint. From entering the resort, Henry greeted us like family, and front reception was quick to check us in.. we did have to wait for our room, as we arrived very early. Check in is 4, we had our room by 3. If you have any special requests, guest services are very helpful. My husband was able to arrange for flowers and cake for my bday with no hassle or communication issues, and affordable:) I’m not going to name staff for fear of forgetting someone. However every single interaction was like you were dealing with the cousin you like. They have kids club rhat Lucy runs, although we didn’t have children there, we spent a lot of time chatting with her, and it appears that the kids love her. Many of the staff have worked there for over 20 years. I believe that speaks a lot about the resort, and the people, and is definitely a contributing factor to why it feel like you are visiting family. If you have made it to the end of this, and have any questions ect. I’d be more than happy to try and answer. This was our first visit to Sol, and hopefully won’t be our last.

Unkept rooms, Cockroaches in the bathroom. The shower head just fell off the wall as I went to use it. Room was dirty, with spider webs in the corners, jst did not feel great to be sleeping in the room. The roaches came out in the bathroom and sink area each night, fortunately did not come into the sleeping area. The inclusive part, food, of the resort was decent with different choices.

We choose this resort for our wedding, and for real we had not idea this place would be able to make our dream come true such as well. Everything was really perfect for us, we don't have words, we are really grateful with all the staff, they didn't miss any detail for the wedding. I would like to make special mention to Ulises the guy in charge of Don Diego restaurant, he was too nice and special with us and the food there was amazing. People from the lobby they work too good, the best piña colada ever and the best "sex on the beach" cocktail around Cayo Coco. All the costumer service staff did a great job organizing everything specialty Dora she did it really well. Thanks to everyone 🙏I can't remember all the names

I was in room 1301. It was renovated, all plumbing equipment was new. Always had hot water and the bed was quite comfortable and clean. Food was quite good, much better than Tryp Cayo Coco by far in 3/23 and 6/23. Kitchen very clean and no roaches or flies! The only negativity from my room was the phone was dead but the security at the hotel was acceptable. Nice clean pools and many employees renovating in many places. This hotel is a fair 3.8 * and I will return in early April. Forgot to mention, the staff is awesome!
Room tip: Get basics Imodium, Sandoz Azithromycin, Pedialyte, Advil and so on. All of these you can get from your pharmacy. No meds found in Cuba!
