A good standard property with an excellent beachfront location. Sol Cayo Coco is the only hotel with access to two different but equally charming beaches, situated a midst gardens and palm grove facing the sea and the white fine sand beach. The hotel is ideal for families with children, couples, honeymooners and weddings, fish and dive. This paradise is the perfect spot to combine great fun with fantastic relaxation.

Sol Cayo Coco is celebrated by guests for its commendable amenities, such as pristine beaches and diverse food selections, though a few suggest updates are needed. The hotel's value is often highlighted as budget-friendly, making it a destination worth revisiting. While the vibrant atmosphere, marked by themed music and entertainment, is a plus for many, some find the volume excessive. It was our first time to the Sol Cayo Caco and we enjoyed our week immensly. We arrived the night before Valentine's Day. We booked into the a la carte for Valentine's Day Dinner and we had a beautiful 4 course meal at the Don Diego. The whole week we had beautiful days of 27 or 28. We also enjoyed the slower pace. Not having to go 80mph. The food to our delight was good. I enjoyed the pasta station and the grill. My husband really enjoyed the buffet. As well in the morning we like the omelette station and the shake station. We would recommend this resort to anyone like us on a budget. The room we stayed in was large and we were very pleased that it had been renovated a few years ago. Nice comfortable mattress and nice warm shower with rain head. We would recommend the Cayo Coco area it seems so beautiful. We really enjoyed the beach and watching the pelican's dive looking for fish. The ocean was really warm, and the waves made for enjoyable floating. If you have booked to go to this resort, we hope you enjoy it as much as my husband and I. Our maid was excellent we came back to a clean room every day and wonderful towel art. As well all rooms on the second floor have a great balcony and a beautiful ocean view due to the trees that were lost because of the hurricane. We are a couple in our late 50's and so we don't need a lot of night life and the shows in the evening were very good. Rooms closer to the pool are louder as you hear the pool music. On our way hope we paid $30 each to go to the VIP lounge and we are very glad we did. First of all a flight was delayed going to Toronto and that meant the check in was very long. But as we had paid for VIP we went to a check-in marked VIP and there were only 4 or 5 ahead of us. Then we went into the lounge which was air conditioned and we had ham and cheese and whatever we wanted to drink. For us, not being in the 2 hour line up was worth the $30 extra. It made for a better flight home and my husband could use WIFI if he wanted. We also used the chance to change into long pants for the journey home. We hope you enjoy this part of Cuba if you are considering going. Oh and if you go to Lenny 's restaurant book your cab to get there at 5:00 or so and then you can enjoy the sunset.

We visited in November and January. It is just a place, where you would like to spend more time, the amount of repeaters confirms this. The hotel has added many improving features since our visit last season. There was dinner and lunch around the pool area with amazing entertainment during the meal.Separate Cocktail hours for the guests of the individual countries of origin. The pools are still kept in pristine condition, so are the sun beds. Service at the bars was swift, lots of Cuban and international drinks. The buffet offered an excellent variety, a big improvement over last season. The a la carte makes a great effort to please everyone, even those with special food needs.
In November the weather was amazing, just what we dreamed of with calm ocean and sunshine. In January it was very windy and not so nice for beach time. The rooms were very pleasantly decorated and kept clean, nice fluffy towels, hairdryer, iron, shampoo, conditioner and soaps. A fair size tv, yes and a Canadian channel. Now the best feature was the wonderful, friendly staff everywhere. All your problems were solved by just calling 700. To all the department managers, we thank you for having such kind and attentive employees, the big reason, why we return several ties every season.

Me and my family, 2 adults and 2 kids (age 6 and 1) spent 7 nights at Sol Cayo Coco at the beginning of March. We had fantastic experience.
The hotel is very close to the airport, it took us 15-20 minutes by bus. The resort is very clean and well maintained. The grounds are very beautiful and maintained as well.
We stayed in suite #1220. The room was very spacious and clean, with huge balcony that overlooks the ocean. The house keeping was spot on. The room cleaned and set up on a daily basis as expected.
The beaches are amazing. We spent every day at Playa Larga beach. Kids loved it, it is sandy beach, very shallow with clear turquoise water.
The staff is genuinely welcoming and warm and goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service.
We plan to go back one more time very soon.

My partner and I are not resort travellers, but found a great last minute deal to Sol Cayo Coco and decided to get away from the Canadian cold for a week. This was my first trip to Cuba and my partners third. Cayo Coco itself is beautiful and very quiet, at least during the time frame we were there in March. You can walk the white sand beaches for miles! The resort itself was decent per Cuban standards, a bit outdated but very clean with very friendly staff (although we did tip well). Nice pools and two separate beach areas that were really nice to choose from, especially since one was protected a bit from the wind. Water sports were offered but we only got to enjoy the use of them one day out of our week as red flags were up the remaining days (? Under currents). We primarily ate at the buffet restaurant which was alright. I have heard so many negative comments on food in Cuba and I really have no complaints with this resort. We ate at a couple of the beachside bars as well which were not as good. We could never get a reservation at the sit down restaurant as it was always “full”, yet I never saw anyone actually go in the place. Wifi cards available for $1 (US equivalent) at the front desk but wifi sketchy and only works in lobby). A few limited excursions are offered but you are best just to relax and enjoy the beach all day. Lots of families with kids and the resort hosted some pretty decent kids entertainment. However, zero nightlife for adults! The evening shows were short and mediocre and resembled your average high school age dance routines, except one night some guys from outside the resort came in and performed and they were amazing. The disco was empty and would just shut the lights out by midnight. Drinks are most definitely watered down, but hey, they are included. Not sure I would pay the full usual price for this resort (we got in as all inclusive with air under 1k for the week), but would go back in a heartbeat at that price! Of note, during the time we were there some of the adjoining resorts had days with no electricity or water; no issues at all here. And hot water too!

This resort was the perfect vacation spot for a decent price.
A small resort, never had to worry about having a chair poolside or on the beach.
Staff were amazing all throughout. Buffet staff will actually start to save you tables for lunch and dinner if you return to the same section each day, and treat you like gold.
Rooms were clean, not overly fancy but worked just fine for sleeping and bathing.
Evening entertainment in the large lobby area were always great.
only 1 a la cart, so buffet food does get monotonous after a week, but hey, its cuba!
Always found something to eat. Burgers and pizzas are always great.
Beach is GORGEOUS, and this resort actually has 2 beach areas- both with beach bars.
Pools are immaculately cleaned.
1 hr full body massage for 40 pesos!
Overall great experience, would return for sure!
*good to note that cuba is not not allowing their CUC $s to leave the country, all leftover money needs to be converted back at the airport, but they convert back to canadian $ at an EQUAL value when LEAVING the country. Exchange rate still applies for original exchange when you arrive.

The entire staff make you feel like you are family and for the returning guests, they are family! The grounds and the main areas are well kept. Lightbulbs are quickly changed and garbage is swiftly swept up. Even though this is an older hotel, they are repainting the staircases, building new palapas on the beach, as well as fixing the theatre. Evening entertainment was in the lobby, which led more people to enjoy the music and entertainment in the comfort of lounge chairs and close proximity to the lobby bar. Our safe was not working and within minutes a maintenance worker was able to fix it. Henry in customer service was there to answer questions and help support guests. Rogelio always greeted us with a smile and a fist bump. He made sure that everyone was having a wonderful time through dancing and playing his guitar for us before lunch. Erick in the buffet restaurant always made us laugh and we looked forward to sitting in his area during meals each and every day. The ladies who looked after the rooms, always asked us if there was anything we needed, even if we had requested not to have our room made. The food was delicious and there was always something to be found for picky eaters. Throughout the week, we got to know some of the other guests, which led to competition during 5pm daily BINGO! It was sad to leave at the end of the week. Not just for leaving the warmth of Cuba, but leaving behind the amazing staff and fellow guests we had met along the way.

We were 2 couples around age 70, flew from Hamilton with Air Transat. We stayed 2 wks. The resort is the oldest and probably one of the smallest on the island. So, all things are close enough for what we needed.

The staff here really stood out, ALL OF THEM! Henry in the lobby, making sure suitcases were delivered to our room and checking with us every day to make sure things were going well, Ulysses and ? (sorry name forgotten) in the a la carte, Julio and Osbaldo looking after chairs and safety on the beach, Sergio, Erick and Mariano serving in the buffet, as well as our great tall dark and handsome grillmaster who did pasta, eggs and pizzas just the way we like them. Rogelio (Roger) was in charge of entertainment; I never saw this man sit down anywhere; he entertained with his guitar at the a la carte and the snack bar, engaged continuously with guests, always making sure things were going well.

The food was very good, lots of variety every day. Some days it was clear that some things not available, but others were substituted. Grill stations were offered for eggs, pasta, pizza, meats as well as the standard buffet items. Only suggestion for the buffet is to get the 2 coffee machines fixed as the poured coffee was not very good. I managed nicely without it because I stuffed my face with the delicious food options instead.

Pool was always clean and chairs available; beach cleaned every day, lots of chairs for whenever you want them. Long walks along this beach were a highlight. We had lots of wind so only swam in the ocean on some days, pool the rest of the time. There were a few jelly fish on some days, so just pay attention; they were not a problem for us.

One of our group was a mosquito magnet; there were no see ums on some days and she got a lot of bites; the rest of us no bites. So bring some repellent in case you are one of those unlucky ones.

On the Tuesday night they brought out the Perez organ as part of the entertainment. This is quite old, and a must see.

The room was a standard Cuban room, partially renovated and some things not yet done. The bed was new and very very comfortable, shower good (cold water on one day). Safe in the room. If you use a face cloth or hair conditioner, you need to bring those. Blow dryer is hanging on the wall. Had a non functioning toilet one day; I reported it and it was fixed IMMEDIATELY. Flat screen TV, free wifi on the resort.

In summing up, the resort fulfilled all my expectations and a bit more; food great, staff great, surroundings great. Go and enjoy! We will be back.

The hotel is very clean and the staff are fantastic. I noted that the yard, flowers and beach is very clean. No danger of stepping on something sharp. The pool is clean and offers the opportunity to swim in shallow or deeper water. This resort has the advantage of 2 beaches that are available for swimming options. When one has high waves the other beach is protected and perfect. Yes, food is very basic but good quality. We all like the bread.

Came here and everything was great initially. A lot of people did become ill with sickness and diarrhoea during the first week. Which you expect a few, that is Until I became severely ill.
Couldn’t even keep sips of water down, ended up with it going beyond throwing up blood and severely and dangerously dehydrated. I Still am suffering the legacy of of this today with stomach problems that have never resolved. On reflection I wish I had put in a claim against the tour operator, sadly they are no longer trading. I believe and always believed the cause of this was due to hygiene and “lukewarm” uncovered food.
Cuba and the cocos are a beautiful place to visit but I would never consider revisiting this hotel.
I recommend you pay the extra and get a good 4*hotel. This hotel is definitely not in that league.

Our third time to Cuba and skeptical about going but our first all inclusive again since Covid . Our first time to Cayo coco and we are in love. Travelled with my mother in law, spouse, 1 year old and 7 yr old.Sol Cayo Coco the staff became family! The entertainment staff Javier Rosa Yahima and Adrien loved my children like they were their children. The intimate simple and lovely atmosphere made us feel like a true vacation. There are 2 beaches you can use, Playa Largas was more shallow . Turquoise waters and seeing some water friends too like fishes and jelly fishes. Hotel was very clean. Main floor bathrooms cleaned as soon as you're done using it. Grounds were well maintained and gardens. Food!!!! I am shocked! Very tasty and seasoned well. We enjoyed the Cuban Day meal by the pool so tasty. The snack bar worked well for us with the kids, fries, burgers, pizza and hot dog options.
Room was on 3rd floor which with a baby and stroller was tedious however we actually didn't return to the room from.. breakfast until time for dinner . The cleaning staff was friendly and always left cute creations made with the baby blankets and toys. Our view was amazing overlooking the beach and hotel grounds where our front view faced the marina . We did walk to the local market where it sold souvenirs, cigars, alcohol. It was about a 20 min walk. We used both canadian and american dollars to tip.and purchase Nightly entertainment was always fun and always began with kids dancing first with the staff. My son felt so appreciated and special by the staff.
Staff always smiling and saying hello. Alcoholc drinks were generous at the bars.
I will go back again to this hotel . We loved every part of it! I miss my cappuccinos!

Yes to both of those! The hotel was all inclusive so it was included, you just have to go back to the front desk and get it reinstated since it expires every 10 hours. They give you a paper at check-in (with the wifi name and password) and you should take a picture of that or bring it eqch time to show them. And the safe is in the room free too. It just needs a code from you. Jj
