After a referral from the server at the Fortress restaurant we found ourselves at the North Star doubting we'd see the famous hosts. Wrong, they were everywhere, serving, bussing, and lots of chatting with the guests. Friendly and warm personal service. Great food and rooms that would fit in any major city yet still showcasing Cape Breton. Thank you Sandra for the exceptional service. And thanks Colin for the excellent scotch suggestion. See you all next year!
As fans of Colin & Justin we were impressed that Justin greeted us when checking in, and we soon after met Colin at the Bothy - both are so friendly - great hosts. Our room was beautifully beachy, well-appointed and spotless with stunning ocean/Fort views. Our only regret was that we only booked one night. We will be back!
Best place to stay in Louisbourg on the water. Rooms very light, airy, pretty, comfy, and nicely appointed. Julie at the front desk is a star who knows everything about the hotel and is most helpful. Colin and Justin are delightful. The restaurant though is the bomb. Best meal we had all week in Nova Scotia. Get the seafood chowder.
The room was out of a design magazine.. book an ocean view room…the waves will lull you to sleep. Food at Brothy was excellent fine dining. Hosts Colin and Justin were attentive and ensured you enjoyed your stay. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends.
Came last year and loved it!!! So we came back again We stayed in room 9 this time, it was stunning. You're right on the beach with seagulls calling and waves lapping. This is a lovely little village and the hotel is wonderfully clean and well run. I'm already panning my third visit before the summer is out. Cant recommend this place highly enough!!! Definitely eat the lobster rolls or the chowder at the day restaurant, we were served by a young lady called Daniella who is an asset to the place.
