We had the room with the two double beds for the night. The establishment boasts of being newly renovated but our room didn’t have that many changes other than the small flat screen tv, paint, wall decor and linens. The bathroom is still old school and there were marks on the new paint in the room itself besides stains on the carpet.

Requests for extra towels and pillows made in advance on the booking were ignored so we had to call the front desk upon arrival which was annoying. The space is quiet and the bed was super comfortable as were the pillows so we slept well.

The pool was closed for maintenance regrettably and the front desk wasn’t overly personable. There is a continental breakfast but the Front Desk staff doesn’t tell you anything about it. We had to go looking for it where the snack section is to the right of the lobby in the freezer (breakfast sandwiches). That being said, they are accommodating as they changed our original reservation from two nights to one night in short notice and allowed for a late check out of 12.

For the value and the comfort of the beds we would stay again but we would be sure to request a fully “renovated” room.

Myself and my friend booked a last min trip from NL to NS for us and our two 8 year old boys. Travel lodge had a great rate, and was close to shopping centres, cineplex, and the mayflower mall. We weren’t sure how the pool would be given the reviews we had read, but was pleasantly surprised about how clean it was. Just as clean or cleaner than any pool I have been in before. Also tried the sauna which was nice. The hot tub has a sign for no kids under 14 though, so the boys didn’t really like that. But there is also a little arcade type room with a claw game, racing game, pool table, and air hockey. There wasn’t a breakfast bar due to ongoing COVID regulations, but we each received a bag with a fruit cup, cereal bar, box of cereal, oatmeal, apple, milk, juice and water. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is the lack of towels that are readily available. I told how many of us were staying when I booked, but there were no extra towels in the room. And there were no towels available at the pool or fitness center. We had to go to the front desk and ask for more. Other than that we had a great stay, and overall great experience!! Would highly recommend!

Stayed here for two nights over a weekend, for a cheer competition in the area. The room was clean and tidy aside from some washed in stains on the linens. Fridge and microwave in room, which are nice to have. Breakfast included. Same both days but definitely adequate. My main peeve is the free high speed wifi... that didn't work. Very frustrating being unable to access simple things like weather and location information.

I went out at 10am my first day there and returned at 9pm. I was very surprised the room had not been cleaned or towels changed that I left in the tub. I had to go to the front desk where I was told I need to request the room to be clean. I wish I had of been informed of this prior to my reservation or at least at check in. I went back to my room and after 20 minutes had to call the front desk to ask where the towels were. I had to go again to the front desk to ask again and told them I have a 5 year old that needs to sleep. I also have a disability and when we returned later in the evenings the parking was full and my wife had to park around the back of the building where there is no card access and walk around to the side of the building in the dark. I asked before booking if they had lots of parking and was told yes. I think the room rate should have been discounted with my wife taking out the garbage, going to get towels and only room cleaning if it was requested.

I checked in last Thursday, the first room did not have a chair by the desk was the first thing I noticed, then noticed how dirty the room was. The desk was dirty, had stains and didn't look like it was wiped down very well, in the bathroom there was hair on the toilet, the mirror looked like it was wiped with a dirty rag and left to dry. The shampoo bottle was used and put back on the sink for the next guest, the mirror in the hall outside the bathroom had smudges like kids hand prints. What looked like red nail polish on the bedsheet, this was enough for me to ask for another room. The second room at first glance seemed okay aside from the windows were very dirty and hand prints all over the inside of the glass. I moved my stuff and was only staying one night this trip. As I looked around and the sun was shining in the window, I noticed stains on the Desk Chair, discussed to think what it was, got out my Clorox wipes and began to clean it down. The desk was covered in finger prints along with the side table next to the chair in the corner. There was a religious card with the miracles medal sticking out from under the lamp, this was obviously not moved when the room was "So Called Cleaned" or it would have been found. There was garbage under the bed which would not have been picked up by a vacuum. The next morning I asked to speak to the manager, they were not in and I asked for them to call me when I checked out, still no one has called since last Friday. I did use the pool and hot tub while there, my feet have been sore and cracked ever since.

Firstly, there is no elevator. Secondly, not the cleanest facility - carpets very dirty, rust marks in bathroom. The bed was OK and clean. The free breakfast was also OK, but a few items missing - bananas, cheese or yogurt, hard boiled eggs. The space or breakfast bar could be tidier. Staff not the most professional or proactive.

Disappointing. The best part was that they didn’t use scented products to clean. A heads up was when we were checking in and another guest who had just checked in asked them to come vacuum the floor because there were little papers all over the floor. Our was mostly vacuumed well except there was a plastic wrap under the desk. There were cobwebs beside the curtains and under the curtain and something that looked like dried snot where I had my suitcase. The back of the door was grimy with dark marks. The walls probably hadn’t been washed since the pandemic began or maybe even before. The staff who smoked were in plain view outside the doors and there were butts everywhere! We stay at the Travelodge regularly in our home province and both are super clean!!! Oh, and we didn’t know about our complimentary breakfast until we checked out second morning. I wouldn’t stay here EVER again.

I think we were supposed to ask for the rooms to be made because in the four days we were there, no one came to clean or empty the garbage in either of the two rooms we booked.

The staff was always very pleasant and friendly. It's just the building that's tired. Oh, and the billing process is way too complicated. There were four transactions to my card. As the reception staff was explaining to me, I could hear the other young lady on the phone having to explain it all to someone else. We weren't the only ones confused. The staff must waste a lot of time having to explain the billing procedures that the Travelodge company decided to go with.

The breakfast was bagged and easy to get from the reception area. As mentioned earlier, the staff was always lovely! :)

This hotel has gone from bad to utterly atrocious, the change room floors are carpet and soaking wet, lockers with the bottoms rusting out of them, with old clothes and towels dumped everywhere. The pool door was open with a huge industrial fan on the pool, so my children went blue, had convulsive shivers and went pre-hypothermic, one of the showers was out of order so I had to wait in the pool to stay warmer until the shower was free to warm them up. Everything in the games room was out of order, there was also abandon clothes and towels all over the pool area, even underwear. When I tried to tell the front desk about the fan in the pool and how cold it was, they just shrugged their shoulders at me and didn't do anything. So bad customer service to top it off, I asked for a discount, their reply was we don't have a policy for the pool. Defiantly not sending friends, family or clients to stay here anymore. I wish i had taken photos that i could have posted!

Place is really dirty and run down. $180 a night plus taxes and fees for a hotel I couldn’t even shower in was despicable. I felt cleaner by not stepping in the shower. There was also used soap in the sink area. The only good thing about this hotel is the front desk staff and breakfast crew they were very pleasant.
