Found Marijuana in a plant pot

Reviewed Jan 8, 2020via mobile
We stayed in a 3 bed villa over Christmas. The villa had a few issues, primarily the cleanliness of the hot tub area and the very slow draining shower cubicles.
The cooker didn't really do the job required of it.
The pool was absolutely freezing despite us being told it was heated.
The complimentary bus to Disney left at a ridiculously early time so we didn't use that.
Apart from these issues, it was a comfortable stay.

We spent the first 5 days convinced that we could smell marijuana whilst sat on one particular sofa and after a bit of a search I found a partly smoked joint in a plant pot on an item of furniture behind it.

I took it to reception and the young lady behind the desk called the supervisor who was off site. She was most apologetic and said she'd have to charge the previous guests for smoking in a non smoking house. I was more concerned with finding illegal drugs at my holiday accommodation than whether or not the previous guests would be charged for their antics.

The lady said she'd come over and see us the next day but we went out at 9.30 and returned at approx 6pm so I'm not sure if she tried to see us or not as no note was left and she didn't appear on the following day either.

Not very satisfactory really.

All in all, a bit of a let down.

I would definitely stay at this property again even though we had some minor problems. The heated pool was a bit of a disappointment because of the time of year that we went, I was looking forward too that, the second day there the jacuzzi went out. We were told online that there was a shuttle from the airport to the property and there wasn’t. This was a big deal for me and my family because we were a party of 10. The whole shuttle thing should be excluded from the details online. It wasn’t a bonus at all. The shuttle doesn’t take you too Universal Studios, just to Disney parks. And it leaves at 7 in the morning to pick up from other places. Just drive please or rent a car!

We stayed at Marriott Cypress 3 nights before we switched over here to check it out.

It is very close to Disney... probably less than 5 minutes.

We asked if the early check- in was available they said no but would call me when the room would be ready around 4 pm... no call, I had to call to hear that it was ready. I waited 20 + minutes to check-in. They were so slow.

We checked in and honestly it is Ok. Beds are not comfortable at all. Materials are cheap.

That wasn’t the worst part of it.

There was only 1 toiler paper per each room. I asked if I would get a room cleaning and this is what they said:

- You don’t get a daily cleaning service. If you want it, you have to pay for it.

- You don’t get toilet paper, paper towel, extra towels once you are out unless you request a full cleaning service which is about $177 dollars. That’s right. Paying over more than $500 per night, I expected to get at least extra toilet papers not just one. Is that too much to ask? The one they provide is so cheap too.

- You pay $177 dollar cleaning fee upon check out.

- No high chair, no crib

- Their kid club is so filthy; it is obvious that no one cleans it like - ever.

We miss Marriott. Why am I here? We will never come back here.

First, the good. The hotel is located in a great location, very close to the parks as well as shopping and restaurants. The hotel pool seems nice enough and the rooms are decent. We had a six night stay and from the start we had issues with our reservations. I called a few weeks out from our stay because I had read numerous complaints about the communication amongst hotel staff.
Well, a room we had booked nearly a year prior was indeed the wrong room. I had booked a 4 bedroom and the staff told me I had a three bedroom. They cleared it up on the phone, however, when we arrived to the hotel, the room was wrong. Not a very good way to start a getaway that requires the four rooms.
Next, on the second day of our trip the main dresser downstairs fell apart on my two-year-old daughter. The front door literally fell off the front of the dresser and onto my child injuring her. The actual hinges had no screws in them; I was shocked and angry, but chalked it up to happenstance.
Two days before we left it was pouring down rain and we get back to our room after a lock trip to Disney and our door lock on our door broke. None of our four keys worked and I went up the office and asked them to come as we were standing out in the rain with two kids, my wife, myself and our two parents. It took them 20 minutes to come and open that door. The place had very few guests during the time we were there. I went to the office multiple times and it seemed like there was no sense of urgency to help us, again, I was dumbfounded by this. I'm not asking for much, but at least have a sense of urgency or apologize for our door lock being broke for 20 minutes and us getting soaked.
It also shocked me that I got no apology about the dresser door falling on my two year old; I don't require much, but in the HRTM industry, show some compassion and treat us as your guests.
Finally, I was told I would not be charged a cleaning fee and I was so again, I'll chalk that up to poor communication and staff management.
If you are looking for a place to relax, this is not the place, please don't put your family through the pains and confusion I went through, it's not worth it.
