The room was filthy with peeling paint on the walls, dirty floor and no carpet. The location was good but that is all it has to offer. The second floor had people up all night talking loudly and woke up to broken beer bottles with shards of sharp glass that was not cleaned up.
I’d suggest finding another boutique hotel as there are plenty. This one’s in bad shape for many, many reasons—EX: poor reservation system, quite unclean, simply unsanitary, unsafe electrical. It is, however, close to a beautiful beach.
We stayed at the Ocean Inn in Hollywood for one night on our way to the cruise port. We wanted a hotel close to the Hollywood Broadwalk. The hotel was rated very well and it was fairly inexpensive so we gave it a try.
I don't recommend staying here. The hotel is definitely showing signs of neglect. The sheets had cigarette burn holes in them, the towels were stained, the lampshade was held together by tape. The trash hadn't been changed from the previous guests and there were used condoms in it. The bed was so soft, but not in a good way. We rolled into the center and had a really hard time getting out of bed! Parking was an additional fee (that was not noted on Expedia which is where we booked through). There was also unknown "stuff" dripping down one of the walls... Ick
The only positives were that it was very close to the Broadwalk and was in a safe area. The shower had fabulous water pressure and temperature. There was also a nice outside sitting area for guests. They also provided plates, cups, a wine key for opening wine bottles, mini fridge, and microwave which I thought were nice touches.
Overall, I don't recommend staying here. I'm not sure why it was rated so well!
Great location, within a couple of blocks walking distance to the beach. It was great to have beach chairs and towels handy for use. Nice fridge and utensils available if needed. The bathroom area left some to be desired...tiny and not the cleanest. We stayed during COVID restrictions, so no one was there to check us in or out, which was a little awkward. We did get a text message with confirmation, but we were a little uneasy. Worked out fine!
My husband and I stayed overnight before cruise departure. The property is nice with spacious rustic rooms and small kitchenette. Beds are comfortable. Property is located right on the Boardwalk walking distance from shops and restaurants.
But most of all I would like to praise their treatment of customers. Phil was very nice, kind and extremely helpful. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
