A very nice stay

My boyfriend and I were here for a wedding and we had a very nice stay. From the start, transfer service to and from the airport was seamless as was check-in. We arrived and were immediately greeted, checked in and taken to our room. I had arrived with a semi-large group of about 15 and we were all seen and in our rooms within 30 mins.

Our room was beautiful and easy to get to. Very clean and accommodating. Like I said we were there for a wedding and there was plenty of closet space for our dedicates. Both my Boyfriend and I sent out for dry cleaning which was also quick and hassle free.

Everything is perfectly spaced apart as to not feel crowded, we never felt like one area was more crowded then the other. We always had enough lounge chairs and easy access to the pool/beach.

Service once on the resort was fabulous as well, you never went without. Whether it was food, drink or leisure there was always someone there to help or provide for you. The staff was always cheerful and polite and eager to help.

My only suggestion is a bigger buffet. I felt like during the breakfast rush the selection was small and you would not have much to chose from if you came on the later end.

Other than that I could not say anything bad about my experience there.

I normally write lengthy reviews, but at the moment, any complaints would be trivial. We were there end of February - beginning of March. I will say, we did have a wonderful time, lots of fun, great people, great food, & it's a beautiful resort We met some wonderful people, not only the staff, but guests as well. Right now, I only pray that everyone, from staff to guests are home & healthy. Until next year, hopefully, stay healthy everyone!

It was superb, the food was very good, we eat organic and while they don't advertise as serving organic food, we found that we were very comfortable with their meats and the food was not too sugar-sweet, we really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and Orfanel who was our event planner was on point

Room tip: The hotel rooms are recently renovated so all the rooms are good

My wife and I had made friends with Gilberto Mora, a restaurant waiter we had met at the Valentin Imperial Maya many years ago. His impeccable service is one of the reasons we had continued to vacation at the VIP year after year.
Anywho my wife told me that Gilberto had changed jobs and was working at the Now Sapphire. He told her that it was a "fantastico" resort and that we should come down for a visit. We decided to go down for a short stay and soon realized that we should have booked a longer vacation.
We booked a swim out room and the view was breathtaking. The room shared a pool with 5 other swim outs with a view of the Caribbean. The beach and sea were right there! No walking to the beach; You were on the beach. Fantastico!
The bar service and restaurant service were exceptional. No waiting for a half hour for a cocktail server to get back to you on the beach. I would go back to the Now Sapphire for the excellent service alone. Also I want to give a shout out to Jimmy at the pool bar. He speaks perfect English and knows his sports. I felt like I was talking to a bartender here in Philly.
As for the food I can't speak much to that. Because of the current cronoavirus outbreak we decoded to take most of our meals in our room. We did however really enjoy the chicken BBQ they had by the pool Friday. Excelente! As well as the Japanese cooking show at the Lemongrass Hibachi.
Although this resort allows children it will be our new vacation hangout for the next few years. We plan on coming back for a longer stay when they finally get a handle on the caronavirus.

Room tip: Definitely get the Master swim out suit if you have the means

July we scheduled ocean front rooms. Went through a TA who booked through United Vacations. Arrived 3/13 to be told there weren't any ocean front rooms.They would only offer a voucher to be used in a very short period of time and they said it was only for tropical. After talking with our TA she said she spoke with both United Vacations and the resort and we were supposed to get a voucher for the original rooms that were booked - ocean front. We went round and round with Miguel in the preferred lounge about this. Then when we finally got tired of spending hours trying to negotiate we settled for the tropical. Upon making the return reservation - the manager told us the vouchers weren't even valid as he didn't get a manager signature. Another 3 hours later we received 5 nights in the tropical rooms. The only reason this worked out is because my daughter has a wedding to attend there in January. Otherwise, we would have been out the difference in price of the two rooms.
Also, why wouldn't we get the rooms requested upon booking and paying months ago? Heard rumors the sister resort that was delayed in opening was moving their guests to Now Sapphire. If that is the case, I feel that we should have gotten priority.
Food was average. Very hard to get to the restaurants as there were always lines and waits for dinner.
There are too many better resorts out there for us to ever return here.

We have enjoyed multiple Dreams resorts, we visit the Cancun area 4-5x/year and absolutely loved the fairmont, the u at fiesta Americana, multiple Paradisus hotels, grand velas, and Estudio, and we thought Now Sapphire was going to be a small step up from dreams, but we are very disappointed.
We arrived 4 days ago and upgraded to an ocean front master (2 rooms, master bedroom and family room with sleeper sofa) for an additional $1700 because the king bed we reserved online was not available at check in, and the air conditioner doesn’t work at all in the bedroom! We can’t get anyone to repair it despite 7 complaints/calls over 4 days!
The workers are very nice, the food is pretty good except for the buffets, but there is a ton of seaweed and ants in the bathroom.
The inability to sleep with a 27 degree room (81 Fahrenheit) is definitely not what I was hoping for in any vacation, but especially not when paying extra for a ‘nicer’ room. The lack of customer service is truly unheard of—they are nice on the phone and in person, and they say it will fixed right away, but then no one shows up or does anything to help. Don’t stay in room 520 whatever you do! I unfortunately can’t recommend this hotel
