My wife and I read a ton of reviews prior to deciding on the ocean coral and let me tell you it was worth every penny! We are still here at the resort and really felt like we needed to write this review now to try to capture how we are feeling in the moment. First of all.. you should definitely do the privilege package since it gets you THE JOSE LUIS CEN! “Beach Concierge” Every morning he made sure to get us either chairs by the pool, beds by the ocean or Cabanas by the ocean. He is super friendly and loves his job! It is very difficult to get ANY chairs here without privilege so I would spend the extra funds and do it! You only live once..or you can get up all hungover at 6am and try to find a chair and put your towel on it, however most chairs are already taken. Also I have what you would call in Spanish a “picky picky” wife who wants everything her way so privilege is the way to go. Top shelf booze including Gonzo Gris aka Grey goose and Don Julio tequila!
As for the restaurants..with privilege you get to make reservations and actually eat when you want. At the Blue Moon we had JORGE who seated us at the flower covered honey moon table and treated us like Royalty! He was super nice and really did a great job making us feel special.
The privilege also has a special breakfast lunch and dinner restaurant that includes ALDO and JAVIER who made us amazing drinks and food! Since my wife is “picky picky” the sit down non buffet style breakfast and lunch really made her happy. All food here is really good and there is a great variety to choose from. As for drinks my wife loved her spicy margaritas which had jalapeños in it. The beer included dos xx, sol and Heineken. I wish they had Modelo but you can’t win them all! We upgraded to 4th floor ocean view as seen in the pictures. You should do that to! Happy wife happy life!

The room was a junior suite and very nice room.
The food and restaurants are in close proximity to each other so no carts are needed. There is a coffee shop with snacks that is great as you are coming back from beach area.
I had a bit of a walk from my room.
The elevators do not work and still do not work. That is the only issue here.
The night entertainment is average but the beach and area are lovely. There is a lunch restaurant beside the beach which is great.
I do not prefer this location because my favorite is Akumal Beach Resort but because it is very close to most areas and is more economical I do like it for these reasons.
There are stairs going down to main level. They have accessibility for disabled which is good.
The food is good and if you are looking for not the most elite spot this is just fine.
Will come back.
In addition this place is close to Puerto Morellos fishing village which you can visit walking along the beach.45 mins walk.
It is a keeper.
Usually Air Transat flight 6 am which is the best as you get in at 9 45 am.
When you do this going through passport area is a breeze as it is an early flight.
All in all visit at least once.

My friend and I stayed at the OCT from Feb 13th to Feb 20th for a girls trip.

We ate the Sensai Japanese Restaurant which was great but for all our other meals we ate the buffet.

The buffet was hit and miss. There was enough enough food but not a lot of daily variety. We were never left hungry though!

We situated ourselves at the quiet pool the entire week and it was so relaxing!! Jose and Ricardo are the servers and they were amazing. You learn their names as it’s quite the little community at the quiet pool.

TIP: the pool and ocean chairs get snagged up very early in the morning. It’s a struggle everyone has at this resort (lack of chairs). We tipped the workers and they brought up chairs from the ocean for us to have at the pool daily.

We didn’t do Prestige as we didn’t see the value in it but many people were happy they upgraded to it.

The rooms were big and comfy.

There is no disco but they do have dance parties by the pool at night. If you’re looking for a “party” this is not the hotel for you.

I would definitely return for a quiet vacation again.
