I was so disgusted with this hotel, first when checking in the lobby gives you a great first impression. The staff that should of been my first clue, very rood. And she also never gavee a receipt, I thought I will get one at check out, wrong. We go to the elevator after checking in, discussing. We get to our floor their is actually ceiling tiles dropping from the ceiling, we open the room and their is a smell, we then went to get food at the restaurant, ordered Nachos thinking you can mess this up, get back to the room and they are burnt, I was like I am tired and to be honest I just want to sleep, well the sheets are folded under the duvet, the bed is not made. We close the certain and their is a big red stain on the curtain. I then go down stairs to speak to the front guest and the response is thanks for letting me know and their is nothing we can do. I then go back to the room and they don't even have a mattress cover on the bed. I make the bed, go to sleep. In the morning we find mold around the shower, I am like let's get out of here and let's go to the air port. I check out and still no receipt. I am like well, we had to go and was told we don't normally give out receipts your credit card charge is the receipt. When we get back from our trip. We get a way back to our car, 3 hours later and 5 calls latter. Then on the Monday morning I call and ask to speak to a manager that was like pulling teeth, and the manager even call me a liar as I never mentioned anything. I then ask to speak to the general manager they refused to transfer me to her, provide a name or even an email address and said she would be in next week she's on vacation. The following week I called and the same answer she's on vacation we don't know when she is back but you can try next week. So I call this past Monday, still the same she is here but she is to busy with current guess I ask to be transferred to her voice mail, they did and by Wednesday I called back as no reply I said I want to speak to the GM answer to busy, I said this is enough I want to speak to her. The following day I called back as I still didn't get a reply that after she called me and basically said I am allowed vacation and how dare you say you don't care about my vacation. I said this is the worst I have ever experience and that I want a refund she said no refund and basically said I have to go as all you care about is you and not me. I said the owner needs to be aware of what's going on. She said the owner is in the US not here and I am not giving out that information. I then contacted choice hotel's and I got a response within 10 minutes saying we are sorry about your experience and because they don't have access to the hotels pos and also because I was in Canada they will be sending me a wire transfer for the full amount and this type of action is not acceptable by choice hotel's. Run from this place they did upgrade the lobby 3 years ago, and that is all what they did. And I am a owner of a business and their would be no way I would approve a GM vacation during the peak season as most Maritime provinces do fly out of Halifax in the winter to head down south. And the owner needs to take charge of this hotel, get new management as I always said if the manager doesn't care about clients staff will not care either. That place needs help and it does need a new management. What a joke of a manager, she needs to go back to the bottom line and get to know what customer service is and she needs to realize that with out customers their is no job to go to.
