Good hotel with parking

Budget hotel with good service and free 14 day parking. We stayed there the night before our flight to Mexico to take the shuttle in the morning to the airport.We left at 5:45 and missed the breakfast but were given a bag with a muffin, yogurt etc the night before.The shuttle wasn’t busy at that time of the morning but can be difficult to get on.Holds 10 but have seen line ups of 40 people trying to get on.

Room was old but clean and comfortable

On our return at midnight we had had a major snowstorm and the side road to our car at lot “yellow “ beside the hotel was not plowed so we had a 3.5 hour wait before the road was plowed

The dark haired girl at the front desk handled a very hard situation with great care and a very professional manner as everyone coming off the shuttle wanted their car and only a few were plowed out. She put her jacket on and directed the plows where needed. They did the very best they could to help their guests

We would use this hotel again

This place is a dump. Damp and musty smelling. DIRTY Need to replace the beds and furniture. The heater running all night kept me awake. Had a long drive the next day so was not impressed. Would never stay again. Worth it to pay the little extra for a much better hotel down the road. I will the next time.

I was so disgusted with this hotel, first when checking in the lobby gives you a great first impression. The staff that should of been my first clue, very rood. And she also never gavee a receipt, I thought I will get one at check out, wrong. We go to the elevator after checking in, discussing. We get to our floor their is actually ceiling tiles dropping from the ceiling, we open the room and their is a smell, we then went to get food at the restaurant, ordered Nachos thinking you can mess this up, get back to the room and they are burnt, I was like I am tired and to be honest I just want to sleep, well the sheets are folded under the duvet, the bed is not made. We close the certain and their is a big red stain on the curtain. I then go down stairs to speak to the front guest and the response is thanks for letting me know and their is nothing we can do. I then go back to the room and they don't even have a mattress cover on the bed. I make the bed, go to sleep. In the morning we find mold around the shower, I am like let's get out of here and let's go to the air port. I check out and still no receipt. I am like well, we had to go and was told we don't normally give out receipts your credit card charge is the receipt. When we get back from our trip. We get a way back to our car, 3 hours later and 5 calls latter. Then on the Monday morning I call and ask to speak to a manager that was like pulling teeth, and the manager even call me a liar as I never mentioned anything. I then ask to speak to the general manager they refused to transfer me to her, provide a name or even an email address and said she would be in next week she's on vacation. The following week I called and the same answer she's on vacation we don't know when she is back but you can try next week. So I call this past Monday, still the same she is here but she is to busy with current guess I ask to be transferred to her voice mail, they did and by Wednesday I called back as no reply I said I want to speak to the GM answer to busy, I said this is enough I want to speak to her. The following day I called back as I still didn't get a reply that after she called me and basically said I am allowed vacation and how dare you say you don't care about my vacation. I said this is the worst I have ever experience and that I want a refund she said no refund and basically said I have to go as all you care about is you and not me. I said the owner needs to be aware of what's going on. She said the owner is in the US not here and I am not giving out that information. I then contacted choice hotel's and I got a response within 10 minutes saying we are sorry about your experience and because they don't have access to the hotels pos and also because I was in Canada they will be sending me a wire transfer for the full amount and this type of action is not acceptable by choice hotel's. Run from this place they did upgrade the lobby 3 years ago, and that is all what they did. And I am a owner of a business and their would be no way I would approve a GM vacation during the peak season as most Maritime provinces do fly out of Halifax in the winter to head down south. And the owner needs to take charge of this hotel, get new management as I always said if the manager doesn't care about clients staff will not care either. That place needs help and it does need a new management. What a joke of a manager, she needs to go back to the bottom line and get to know what customer service is and she needs to realize that with out customers their is no job to go to.

Before I leave this review just let me tell you I've worked in hotels for years, so I have an endless amount of patience when staying at a hotel. But this was hands-down the worst experience I've EVER had in a hotel...this place should be $49.95 a night. The front desk staff were cold and unwelcoming and the hotel was so run down it felt uncomfortable. I had a horrible sleep due to being on the first floor with blinds that didn't fully close so anyone could see in my room, a broken TV, a toilet that didn't flush and a heater that banged all night so I had to turn it off and freeze my butt off. The only saving grace was Lindsay at the bar who was a breath of fresh air and just the most delightful bartender you could ask for after a long day of travel. The worst and most shocking part though, was going to the front desk and telling them about my experience (they didn't even ask how my stay was...) and the woman at the desk not even looking up at me and replying, "I'll let someone know" No "I'm so sorry "...nothing. It was beyond shocking. Trust me...spend the extra $30 and stay at the Holiday Inn...I will regret giving this horrible company my money forever.

Tub surround had brown stains (human waste?) on it, toilet flush handle was broken and dust bunnies hanging from the ceiling. Disgusting.
The night manager offered a room swap but we were settled and very tired, the day manager wrote in a email we should have switched rooms with no apology. It is what it is a dirty old dump.

Room tip: Go to Holiday Inn.
