Despite its convenient location near the airport, Quality Inn Halifax Airport struggles to impress guests. Many have raised concerns about the hotel's cleanliness, noting a shortage of amenities like towels and a general lack of attention to detail. Guests consistently feel the hotel falls short in providing value for money, often describing the accommodation as overpriced given its substandard conditions. Service is another area where the hotel is frequently criticized, with reports of an understaffed and inattentive team leading to slow service and unmet needs. Additionally, dissatisfaction with the rooms is common, as travelers highlight uncleanliness and a pressing need for renovations. Even though amenities such as free parking and shuttle services are available, guests find the limited pool towels and the monotonous breakfast options disappointing.

We stayed at this hotel prior to our vacation to Cuba. We had an early morning flight which made it worth staying overnight prior to our trip.

Our room was clean and in a quiet area of the hotel. The pool and hot tub was nice to sit back and relax in the evening.

The restaurant at the hotel offers good food at a reasonable price.

With only 1 shuttle running it's best to give yourself lots of time to get to the airport. A round trip for the driver usually takes 15-20 min. On our way back we took a taxi back to the hotel to pick up our vehicles as the line for the shuttle was very long and we did not want to wait. For $21 flat rate a taxi will bring you to the parking lot of the hotel.

Overall this hotel is an excellent choice when looking for a place to stay prior to your flight or vacation. With each room you book you receive 2 weeks free parking.

Thanks!

We have stayed at this property several times over the years and have rated it as very good. The only complaint I have is with the dinning room. We ordered a burger and fries thinking not much can go wrong. Disappointed again. The pickle was a triangle on top of the bun, the lettuce was cut up, not a leaf, and the burger was very over cooked, dry and burnt. Thankfully, our server gave us a credit as we did not finish the meal.
During this down time, perhaps the Inn could teah the cook how to cook a burger.

Okay, it’s good that they provided free airport transportation as we were very knackered after getting a long haul bus. The hotel is clean but fairly small. I think the front desk was in training because there’s huge line and he still managed to take way too long. Like at least 15 minutes with us alone. Very friendly staff at the restaurant, food was also very good. Room was a bit tiny though. If you want to stay cheap in Halifax before your flights, then do consider it

I’ve never written a bad review on a hotel, but this hotel was a god awful experience. I am 8 months pregnant and me and my husband were on our “baby moon”. As soon as we walked into the room we were greeted with a strong smell of mildew which was making me sick whenever we were in the room. The bedsheets smelled like they’d been left in the washer wet for too long. There was cobwebs and spider webs in the corners, a mans whiskers on the bathroom walls and sink. Our room was not stocked with toilet paper, just some left over from the last guest. I was using the washroom and when I finished I realized I did not have enough. My husband called the front desk twice to tell them we urgently needed toilet paper. I sat on the toilet for 15 minutes waiting for it. After our first day out shopping for 7 hours, we came back exhausted and desperate to relax only to find out our room keys had been deactivated. Our first breakfast we were only given 1 plate and utensils, so my husband just waited for me to finish eating and then used mine. Something small, but just add it to the list. The bathroom was so tiny it was almost impossible to use. The photos online all show decent sized bathrooms, not something I would have complained about had it not been for everything else, but since I’m here. The bed was also definitely not a regular queen, much closer to a double. We have a queen at home and have more than enough room, even with our cat sleeping between us, but in this bed we were on top of each other. At the end of the day I realize it’s a 2 star hotel, but something that should be standard in ALL hotels is clean rooms, keys that stay active, and fully stocked with the essentials. I did mention to the guy who brought us new keys that we were not having a good stay, didn’t really seem to care.

Not a good experience at all. The shuttle took just under an hour to arrive on the last flight of the night and the drive to the airport was 5 minutes. I paid the promotional rate for a room and free breakfast which to my surprise was a brown bag breakfast with a juice box, muffin and yogurt. For the price I'm sure I paid, I could have gone back to the airport in the morning and bought a box of coffee and three breakfast sandwiches for cheaper. Also, as everything was paid prior to arrival, I was surprised to see an additional local area charge of $2.50 plus tax. Finally, the restaurant doesn't open till 3pm which isn't intuitive since you're purchasing a free breakfast which means there is no other option for food other than the airport or the other hotels.

The website was misleading on the breakfast, the total charge $50 more than the advertised charge of $109 and was not presented until after the purchase. I'll chalk some of that up to me for riding into a purchase but c'mon, a 50%0 markup. Select the Holiday or Hilton down the road. It may be slightly more but at least you'll see the difference.

We did not like anything at this hotel other than the friendly staff. The hotel is in complete disrepair. Entering the hotel was a gross experience. The glass windows were absolutely filthy, there was garbage laying around, and the entire hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. Although the room was technically cleaned (i.e., toilet did not have stains, bed was made, etc.), the room was completely trashed. There were gouges in the walls, peeling paint, scrapes all over the bathroom door, a clogged sink, dirty coffee maker and sunken in mattresses. It felt like I was staying in an abandoned building that had been tidied up. Additionally, the breakfast was absolutely disgusting, and thus none of us ate it. The waffles were completely frozen, the pancakes were burnt, and the bread was old and dry. The deck of the indoor pool is not level, and thus surrounding it were pools of water that were cess-pool looking from not being drained properly, and posed a major slipping hazard. We witnessed a toddler slip and hurt his elbow quite badly. Disappointing would be an understatement in re: to this stay. To pay almost $250 for a room in a hotel that is a literal tear-down made me cringe. My parents and sister also stayed at this hotel the same night as us, and they had the exact same experience. We are still awaiting a response from the hotel, as my mother laid a formal complaint. We will never stay at this hotel again, and highly recommend avoiding it to anyone who’s contemplating. I'm not sure how this hotel has a 7.8/10 rating on Expedia, because it should be more like 1.8, and solely due to the friendly staff.

This hotel does not want or enjoy group bookings go elsewhere. Between our two groups about 17000$ for 3 nights. They won’t clean the rooms no board rooms to use a strict VERY early curfew, then the icing on the cake a “closed” pool on the final day. We were met at check in with anger about groups it went downhill from there. The place appears to be in dire need of a deep clean & a lot of renovations. The restaurant is crazy expensive 15$ for one drink.

Upon arrival there were 2 signs taped to the door. The first saying "we heard you, we're doing renovations" so the chipped paint and filthy carpeting should maybe be thought of as getting upgraded, but didn't help our stay. The second sign said the satellite tvs were inoperable. So no TV. And no discount for these inconveniences was offered! There were no towels in the pool area, and when I asked for some I was told they're all in the wash just use our room towels. Without any offer of extra towels so we could have dry ones when showering later. And woke up in the morning to ants infesting the room. Everywhere. Overall terrible, would never recommend.

Certainly check in staff were the best friendly and efficient. Room very comfortable bed very comfortable. Breakfast was a diabolical fail too late for average flights broken coffee maker in lobby unacceptable. Bagel tasted stale and closer inspection mold could be seen easily. Yogurt only light so aspertain should have a regular sweatened or unsweetened variety option

I stayed at Quality Inn Airport in Halifax on feb 14th; we were told it would be busy in the am as my flight was at 0800. The next morning, I was ready by 0530 to take shuttle for 5:45 but when I got downstairs, there was already close to 50ppl waiting for shuttle service. I was clearly not gonna make it to airport with the 2hrs suggested time of arrival. Quality Inn staff knew how many people required shuttle to the airport that morning and only allowed max 9ppl onboard. We were not offered to take a 2nd shuttle of any kind. I decided to pick up my car from parking (which was about 1km walk) and take it to airport, which I then had to pay for 1wk parking. No managment on site, no taxi or other mode of transportation.

My suggestion is: don't count on shuttle to take you to the airport on time; have a second plan or don t stay there because it 's cheaper with free parking.
