Great little hotel with many extras

Reviewed Nov 18, 2023
The hotel is great. My stay included the breakfast which I think is mediocre. The down side with a boutique hotel in the city center is there is no gym or anything like that. The hotel sign is not prominently displayed so make sure you remember the location (next to a Turkish treats store and a pharmacy). We stayed in a room on the sixth floor and the room is relatively big and amenities are adequate. My only complaint about the amenities is there is no kettle you can make tea for yourself. When we were there they were fixing some faucets or pipes and advised us not to drink the tap water. There are two small supermarkets nearby you can easily buy inexpensive bottled water and fruits and snacks as we did. Location of the hotel is amazing. But soundproofing of their rooms is something they need to address (noise from other guests in the hotel, not from the street, which is often boisterous during weekends or holidays).

What a gem! Very helpful and friendly staff -- they went above and beyond to find us a taxi on Spain's national holiday when parades had closed the nearby streets. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The included breakfast is quite ample and the breakfast room is very comfortable -- a nice place to hang out while your party assembles for the day. It's just a block off Plaza Mayor and in a busy area, but it was still very quiet at night.

Located close to most attractions and tour meeting points. Short walk to lots of bars, restaurants, shops and everything the center of Madrid has to offer. The metro in Madrid was easy to use and this is in between a few stations for easy access around the city.

Hotel had a fun decor and was easy to find.

This was our second stay here and once again it was fantastic! Perfect location (close to Sol and the metro), friendly and accommodating staff, clean, modern and comfortable rooms.

Our room had a terrace which was very spacious and comfortable. The weather allowed us to spend time there enjoying the view of the city. Once back inside and the doors closed, we were unable to hear any sounds from the street below. A very peaceful sleep!

We plan on returning to Madrid sometime next year and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

We stayed at Hotel Francisco I in early October and even though our stay was shorter than we originally planned, our time there was a pleasure! Our room was very clean and well maintained (as was the entire hotel!) Our room had a balcony with beautiful views. Breakfast is outstanding - with many options. However the best of the best is the staff - our every need or request was promptly handled with a smile. Definitely a place we not only recommend, but would absolutely return to!

A nice central position near Sol. The room was smaller than expected and, having looked in a few others, be aware that they vary a lot. Like all the rooms on the front, it did a tiny balcony, which gave a good view down the road. The metal shutters were very effective at cutting out light and possible noise from pedestrians. Modern decor, with a mini bar and a capsule coffee maker (although we had to ask for coffee and milk at reception). Breakfast was very good, with a cold buffet, plus a choice of waitress served cooked breakfast.Just one coffee machine though, with a perpetual queue. They really need to invest in a second machine!
