Clean, Spacious, and Cool

Reviewed Apr 23, 2024
This Ibis is located on the edge of the central part of Madrid, but still a good location. The rooms themselves were spacious and the air-conditioning worked really well. Only critique is that the soap in the bathrooms was a multi-purpose soap for hand, body, and hair.

Stay here if you want to be a little outside of the craziness of the touristy areas, yet within a 10 min walk of it all.

In a great location within easy walking distance of Plaza Mayor and Sol. Easy walk to Royal Palace and Retiro Park. We occupied a twin room with comfortable beds and bar fridge. Breakfast available from 6am on week days was excellent with plenty of choice from cereals , fruit , cheeses and salamis etc. No kettle in room but a coffee machine is available in the reception area for 2 Euro per cup.
We used the room service menu on the first day as we were too tired to dine out after 24 hrs of flying!
I must say a special thank you to Jorge for assisting us with directions on the map and being very helpful at all times. Also Laura who checked us in with a warm greeting and smile.

Adorable hotel well-located within walking distance of most everything. The rooms are small but who wants to be in your hotel room for more than sleeping when you are in a city like Madrid? Each floor features a different wine region in Spain and the rooms are decorated accordingly. Loved all the color and useful wine info. No coffeemaker in room but I recommend paying extra for breakfast because it had excellent choices and great coffee. The lobby has a wine by the glass auto server, love that! And it’s 2 blocks from a great plaza full of tapas and wine bars. Easy walk to the museum district, shopping, the subway, pretty much everything.

Room tip: Pay for the breakfast. And they have a room to hold luggage if you have a few hours to kill after checkout

Good location once you get to it. Friendly reception and cleaning staff.
Breakfast ok but not restocked well so some missing items.
The floor bleach is very strong and we had to open the window all night as it felt unpleasant.
The biggest problem is the rooms just feel tired and need a refresh. Sure it’s an old building but I’d expect the Styles brand to do a better update job.
Still a decent option though if you can get a good price.

I had a great experience at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. Great location.

Here's where they exceeded expectations. I had booked a RT train ticket with Renfe the previous week but didn't have my confirmation # or an email receipt. I was sure it was lost money. Sarah at the front desk to the rescue. She called on my behalf (I don't speak Spanish) and found my tickets. She was more than kind and helpful. She definitely went the extra mile (kilometer!)

Room tip: Several Ibis Style hotels. Make sure you go to the correct one. I didn't. It was a rough travel day.

Location is everything when staying in a city on a short break and this IBIS Styles has a great location. Within walking distance to the great museums and El Retiro park in one direction and the great public spaces of Sol and Mayor in the other. As well as that it is close to a number of Metro stations that will get you quickly to any other part of Madrid on your trip. The area itself is full of life with a never ending number of bars, cafes and restaurants to meet all your requirements. The hotel itself is bright and colourful with friendly efficient staff. The room was big with a comfy bed and the breakfast a pleasant surprise with lots of options hot and cold. Madrid is a great city with lots to see and do.
