I stayed here with my boyfriend for 5 nights recently. We found the hotel after searching for a last minute place to stay due to my boyfriend needing to take an exam resit at his university in Getafe. I was a little hesitant as the hotel only had one star, but due to reviews, we booked.
To start, I will cover the negatives.
No aircon. With temperatures at 36 degrees and above, this made for incredibly uncomfortable nights. I was a little surprised that there were no fans or any sort of cooling system, but reminded myself that it was one star. A cold shower before bed helped!
The internet seems to stop working at around 4pm, or at least slows down an awful lot. This was rather irritating as we had to spend a lot of time in the hotel room (it wasn't a leisure trip), working, and I needed internet access. During the rest of the day, the internet was perfect.
These are really the only real negatives I can come up with that isn't being really picky. The hotel is kept incredibly clean. The rooms are cleaned daily by a little team of staff. The bathroom was a lot bigger than I expected. We did pay quite a bit for this hotel, but we literally booked a day or two before we left, so it was expected. The bed was comfortable and there was a TV for those who wanted to use it. Considering how surrounded it is, the noise wasn't a problem at all. There was building work going on opposite the room, but unless you're incredibly intolerant, you can ignore it easily.
If you are looking for a very well maintained budget hotel VERY close to the center of Madrid (I've stayed in Madrid on a number of occasions and have paid way more for hotels further away from the center), this is perfect. Plenty of cafes around to get breakfast in, and supermarket literally opposite. I was a little bit of a snob before as i'd never stayed in a 1 star hotel before. Now it's changed my mind for sure.
