Good location

Review of Market Hotel
Reviewed 2 weeks ago
This is our second time at this hotel. I like the location, the room is also clean and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was OK, but i hope they refilled the food more often.

I booked a double room and a single room for a party of 3. I am happy that the double room was upgraded.

Be mindful when booking, on rooms that does not have views to the outside. The room is dark.

Fantastic hotel in Sant Antoni next to Sant Antoni Markets. Great neighbourhood centrally located. Close to Market Bocaria Museum modern art , Place Catalunya and Placa de España. Funky hotel with great rooms and bathrooms get a balcony room if you can. The bar and restaurant are sensational several menus available for example Markets Menu, Paella 🥘 Menu , and daily specials all from the markets next door. We were so impressed with the seafood paella the first night opted for seconds the following night....in a nutshell, we will be back

Room tip: Ask for balcony room

The room´s perfectly in good condition. The housekeeping , F&B and front desk team are accommodating and sympatic except the Director of the Hotel Market named Marcelo. We were drinking cocktails last night and at the middle of our stay, the Director came to us and asked to sign the bill without asking him. I think that´s too unethical. We are supposed to have our dinner but because of what he did, we decided to have our dinner outside the hotel....

Room tip: add more facilties

I am just reading past reviews and a bit shocked...I stayed here for 4days(16-20) and only have positive things to say. My room was very clean, the water pressure for the shower was GREAT(I have long thick hair)

The staff were SUPER friendly/polite and very helpful, willing to go the extra yard to make my stay enjoyable.

I only had breakfast at the hotel, it was simple but nice.

Room was CLEAN..and I had no problem sleeping, with the windows open...

I habe nothing negative to say about the room/staff

I organised a dinner in the Portobelo Suite for 80 people at The Market Hotel. It was an important evening for our organisation and we booked well in advance and supplied the banqueting manager with our food orders several days in advance to make the service run smoothly and efficiently.
In the event, it was a total disaster: the food was terrible: almost everyone complained about their dishes. The quinoa salad was tasteless, the ravioli, billed as with chargrilled vegetables….. had not a vegetable in sight, the pasta was almost raw, the filling was an unidentifiable tasteless paste all overpowered by a tomato sauce. The risotto was cold and tasteless , ditto the tagliatelle. The vegan desert was served with ice cream not sorbet and there was no coconut caramel. The yoghurt sponge was a mess. The only half decent reports were about the tuna tataki and beef carpaccio….. but of course, they were supposed to be cold. The waiting staff were very pleasant and clearly trying their best. But they were woefully short staffed. Consequently, the service was so poor and so slow that there was no time for the planned dancing. Well, no matter, because the music system wasn’t working anyway. .I’m giving stars only for the location. No more are deserved. JUST DON’T GO THERE.

Room tip: Cannot give any stars as none were deserved.
