Awesome Staff, good hotel.

Reviewed Jun 10, 2023
We had a hard time finding hotels for when we were visiting BCN. Found this one and as it was close to Las Ramblas, we went for it despite the 2 star rating. While the location is not fancy, its safe and was quite convenient.
The room was quite good, not large which is expected given the location but clean and quite adequate. The breakfast was good too.
The best part of this stay was the staff, front desk, cleaners and the staff at the breakfast buffet. Most courteous, helpful and friendly. As mentioned earlier the location was great too. However its in some narrow alleys due to which the cabs typically dropped us off a few street away like a few minutes walk. Not a big issue for us but something to note.
Overall highly recommend especially if you want to be close to Las Ramblas area without the high price tag that comes with being on Las Ramblas

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights prior boarding the Norwegian Epic to cruise the Mediterranean. The hotel staff was friendly, professional, and most helpful. Corresponding with them before our arrival was very easy and prompt by email. There was no language problem. Our room was on the first floor and had a small semi private patio. The breakfasts were great with numerous choices. If we should ever go to Barcelona again, this would be my first choice for a hotel.

Location - Excellent location, only 5 mins to Plaza Catalunya, Ramblas; 10 mins to Cathedral.
Numerous good Cafes on the doorstep.
Staff - The Guy who checked us in, just before Midnight, was happy, friendly and very helpful. Other staff were courteous, with exception of a female receptionist who checked us out, who didn't seem interested in anything.
Sumptuous Breakfast, that was exceptional value at €8.80 each.
Our room was at the rear of the Hotel, with a small balcony, overlooking the Art Museum. It had been recently renovated, was very clean and comfortable. Bed was lovely. Tea/Coffee facility in the room would have been welcome, but you could use the basement Breakfast room for these, between 12-8pm, daily.
The area isn't the best-looking, but we felt quite safe.
Good value place to stay, in. City of highly-priced accommodation options.
Would definitely return.

Room tip: It's worth paying that bit extra, for a Balcony.

I booked this before reading any reviews as it was a prime location and lovely rooms. After reading reviews about the street it's on, i had second thoughts about changing hotel but i'm so glad i didn't! We had a street facing balcony (room 405) and couldn't hear much when the door was closed like some have said on here. The rooms were so clean and modern and the receptionists were very friendly. We went out sometimes at 10:30pm and had no problems with the street or the people there at all. It's a lovely traditional street with a buzz about it. Great little kebab shop up the street too which was handy! My only wish was that the room had a mini fridge as we found it hard to keep our water cold but apart from that, it's definitely worth more than 2 stars!

After I booked this hotel I read the reviews about the location and was going to change hotels, so glad we didn't. The hotel was a little gem in Barcelona, staff were great, exceptionally clean and the rooms really trendy. The area El Ravel which we had read many negative reviews was vibrant and fun, I even left my window open at night to take in all the sounds. We loved the skateboarders and even sat and had a drink in a little bar round the corner and watched them. The hotel was about a 5 minute walk from La Rambla and Playa Cataluyna, I would highly recommend this hotel, Acta BCN 40 thank you for your hospitality
