We would stay here again as its adult only and there are limited adult only hotels in Barcelona, we did enjoy our stay but was not impressed with our first greetings at the hotel and the advice given to us at reception.

Cons
> building works are happening at the hotel so there was a man on a crane looking into our hotel room (nearly a few awkward moments when we got out the shower)
> The welcome at reception was poor and was pretty much told to just come back at check in.
> Reception gave us an old map of the on and off bus and sent us to a bus stop that was out of use and was a old route.
> Took us around 40 minutes to walk to the nearest on off bus stop.
> its a 1 hour walk to the La Rambla and Plaça de Catalunya
> The images are bit misleading. The hotel does face the beach, but there is a main motor way in front of the hotel and you have to cross the motor way to get to the beach.
> Traffic from the motorway can be an issue if you are a light sleeper.

Long review:-
We stayed here for a few days before going on a cruise as we wanted to relax more then sight see.

When we arrived we thought were at the wrong hotel, as its on a motor way, the photos gave the impression that its on the beach, it does face the beach but there is a motor way between the hotel and the beach. You just walk over the motor way crossing and you are on the beach, so if you want the beach its a great location. If you want more of the Plaça de Catalunya and La Sagrada Família then I would stay closer to those places, which is the more tourist. We spend a few days before at this hotel for the beach, and then stayed more in town for the Placa de Catalunya.

We arrived at reception early, and the guy there just stood staring at us, he then asked us if we were checking out, we informed him we were checking it, he then just replied come back at 3pm and started doing other stuff on his computer, not the warm welcome we expected, it was then down to me to ask, where we can put our luggage, if we could use any of the facilities, and where we could get changed, it was as if I was asking something out of the ordinary and a struggle to get the information from him, most hotels at least welcome you, take your details and let you know about the hotel/facilities you can use.

There was a man who takes the luggage, he was very nice, and there were toilets you could get changed in, they then gave us a card to get up the roof top pool.

The roof top pool was nice, don't expect a huge pool, its a small pool but didn't feel too crowded. There are a lot of loungers, we never struggled with getting one. They give out towels on the roof top so that was a plus. They serve drinks and food by the pool, you can order by the bar.

We managed to get in our room around 4pm (we didn't make any enquires beforehand as we was enjoying the pool). The room was pretty standard, we had a sea view room, as I said previously in this review there is a motor way between the hotel and beach (the hotel is on the motorway), so you can see the beach area but it looks quite far away, main view is the cars, and the noise is loud. There was a lead across the window as they were doing works on the front of the hotel. We did feel uncomfortable relaxing, getting out the shower etc, as the man would come up and down on the crane a few times.

We had room service, which I have to say was lovely. The service was very good and they were accommodating. You can also buy drinks and some snacks at the reception.

We wanted to do the on off bus, we asked at reception and were given a map by a man on reception, when we came back to book the tickets at reception we spoke to a lady instead, she told us that we had been given the old map and some of the bus stops are not in use. We are so glad she informed us of this as the old map showed a bus stop near the hotel and in fact there wasn't one! We had to walk down the beach (right) as if you were walking into town, and round the the stop (30-40 minute walk).

Other things near by:-
When you come out of the hotel and turn right there are a few restaurants. We had breakfast in the Verdemar restaurant, this was really nice and would go there back.

If you come out of the hotel and go right and keep going until you get to a road called the Rambla del Poblenou, this is a nice busy street for drinks and food, its around an 11 minute walk.

If you come out of the hotel and go straight across the motorway, you are on the beach.

There are limited taxi's that come along the motor way, we got lucky a couple of times flagging down a taxi, if you have to get to the airport or to the port for a cruise I would pre-book, especially on a Sunday. We asked reception for a taxi to the port, they said we had to go outside and flag a taxi down but it will be hard on Sunday's, no help or assistance, and we didn't have the local app for taxi's! luckily we waited a while and managed to flag one down, however, we had quite a bit of time before we had to board our cruise, so if you are on a time limit, make sure you include time for taxi's! Taxi's also take cards.

Overall:-
Disappointed by the welcome we received, especially given the price we paid, and the wrong information we were given re the local attractions. I think we would stay here again as it was a good base, and had a nice roof top bar/pool and also its one of the limited adult only hotels in the area. Would not recommend if you want more tourist attractions and want to me more in the city centre. If you want the beach only, then this would be a good spot, but there are other hotels, closer to the centre and the beach that you may prefer.
