I would have rated this hotel higher but I found a few things absolutely unacceptable.
Any good points were immediately canceled out by the inappropriate female staff uniforms (see attached photo of the tight sequin mini dresses and high heels). Upon arrival/check in at 11am, I felt like I was walking into a casino, nightclub or someplace worse!
To make this hotel experience even more bizarre, the hotel rooms all had holy bibles prominently displayed in the rooms and religious artwork/verses on the walls. What an unholy contradiction! Please note the men were not forced to wear sequin minidresses/heels, just work appropriate jacket and slacks.
We were a large group for a work event so we discussed it at length over the week. The men recounted their initial shock/discomfort, especially when the female employee helped them into their room. Very awkward!
I’ve traveled all over the world for work/holidays and I’ve never seen this type of blatant sexist employee uniform.
In this day and age, it is simply unacceptable to force young women to wear this type of work attire to help guests with their luggage, show them to their rooms and attend to their basic duties.
To their credit and professionalism, despite the ridiculous and embarrassing (& probably uncomfortable) uniforms, the female employees were beyond helpful, sweet and hardworking. Bravos to these ladies!
Despite the exceptional staff, I will never recommend this hotel to anyone - to do so would endorse this type of blatant sexist & discriminatory work environment.
