This is without question the most beautiful building I've ever seen. You can look at all the photos you want but until you've seen it in person, you haven't really seen it.
We did a guided tour (get your tickets early!) and went up in one of the towers. Hands down our favorite activity while in Barcelona, even for the kids.
You can only book tickets online and there were only 2 slots left for our entire week. Luckily I had been before and the tens were able to go without me, but lots of unhappy people at the gate!
Wow!! It’s out of this world. Book on their website for a specified time and use your phone for a guided tour. If you only see a few sights, this has to be one of them.

The outside is clever and detailed and the inside is beautiful and bright.
Visit in the morning first thing as we did and by the time we left it was absolutely heaving.
I wasn't planning on going. The bad - turned good I guess: The church was closing in about 1.5 hours. The employee wanted me to use their website to buy a ticket. I couldn't on my smartphone even w/ my Vodafone sim card internet-no need for the church's wi-fi. My credit card wanted to send me a text to my American cell phone. This was impossible because I got a Vodafone sim (phone #) purchased at BCN. I spoke to my credit card back in the USA and they would not sent a text to my new, but temp Spanish phone #. I kept the Sagrada Familia employee informed of my dilemma - felt sorry for me and let me use the kiosk in building. She could have let me do that the entire time! Yes, beautiful church like the oldest church you may have ever seen and the newest. Take your smartphone to download the audio guide - take earbuds too.
