I selected this restaurant for the New Year dinner 2017-1, with my son (9 years). The restaurant has a Michelin star, so you expect it to be a good place. Well... good, is not really a correct description. Fantastic, is much more truthful. The interior of the restaurant is elegant and in good taste. The plates are all elegant, perfectly prepared and interesting. But the service is simply outstanding, even for a restaurant with a Michelin star. The staff was close to reading the mind of the guests and reacting to the slightest visible or invisible signal. This was our first time here, but we were treated like regular customers. It doesn't really get better than this!

This kind of restaurant cannot be cheap, but honestly this was not very expensive. So, if you are curious to where we are going to spend the next Nochevieja dinner... there is really no need to ask!

We went with our teenage children, food is traditional and excellent, service was good until the end... we waited for 30 minutes to get the bill. Unacceptable.

My wife and I went to Gaig a few nights ago with another couple. We were looking for an exceptional dining experience and willing to pay Michelin star prices for it. To our disappointment, Gaig did not deliver.

The setting is modern austere. Wait staff were largely fine and attentive, tailing off a bit at end of meal.

The issue was the kitchen. There were real clunkers of dishes interspersed with some excellent food, the latter of which presumably earned Gaig its star, and other just good food.

Excellent dishes included the cannelloni and trio of fish tartares. Good dishes included suckling lamb shoulder and roast suckling pig. But outright poor dishes dishes included fried calamari (the person who ordered it found it almost inedible) and sautéed mushrooms, which several in our party ordered but found worse than ordinary in taste or interest.

Wine was fine. The sommelier was cheerful and poured the wine from several different Daliesque decanters.

The price per couple including wine was about 200€. A Michelin star restaurant should deliver better food. Any restaurant costing this much should be better.

Everything, I hoped for on traditional food from the area with high quality culinary skillaet. Excellent mushroom dishes and of course the famous cannellonis.

Good food experience! But not as expected for michelin.
Exterior and entrance of the place is fantastic, but the interior is poor.
Service is excellent!
