Very clean room for our stay. Nice outdoor courtyard to eat or read outside. Nice to be able to stay right in Banff for a reasonable price. We walked to the downtown area which was no problem in the summer.

Review of The Dorothy Motel

It's hard to find an affordable place to stay in Banff, especially during the busy summer tourist season. The Dorothy Motel is newly renovated and used to be the "Bumpers Inn" (which had horrible reviews). I would say this new place is quite good! The rooms are bright and newly renovated, and they make really good use of space, with convenient hooks and shelving, as well as a microwave and fridge in the room. While it is at the end of the hotel strip, it's only a 15-20 minute walk from downtown Banff, and right next to the A&W and gas station. You also get a free bus pass, which makes it convenient to go to other places like the Gondola, etc.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, and when I left my watch after checkout, they let me go back and look for it.
Would definitely stay here again!

For a 2 stars motel, we had a nice experience, the room was very quiet and comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped with everything needed, the bedsheets were clean and despite that the checkin was in another hotel 1 street away but the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I recommend

I'm only giving the star for the kind and helpful guy at check in/out.
I wanted to like this hotel so much as it looked cute on their website and seemed to have such great reviews, however sadly our experience here was not great.
On arrival we had trouble with their app for check in - no problem, we went to the check in desk down the road to get our room keys etc. When we walked up to our room there were large amounts of peanut butter smeared on the exterior walls which was gross and weird.
Upon entering our room we saw brownish red stuff all over the side of the counter where the fridge was. Then in the bathroom there was an odd amount of long black hairs on the floor as well as stuck on the walls in the shower, and on the shower floor, there was also dirt or some sort of brown substance on the walls of the shower. The beds that looked so nice in the photos had stains on the sheets and top sheet covering the duvet had small blood stains. There was dog hair throughout our room and on the patio. Overall it was not a comfortable stay. Regretfully we didn't say anything about the cleanliness at check out as it was 5am when we left, but during our drive home I noticed three bites on my leg which I can only assume are bed bugs as I was not wearing shorts during our stay.

This place is perfect! And the price is fair for the location since it’s located directly in Banff. It’s a bit far from downtown if you want to walk. There is a convenience store right beside the motel which is very convenient.
The room was fully renovated, the beds were confortable, the place was clean and everything we needed was there. We spent 3 nights there, we asked for new towels and the garbage to be emptied out, it was always done before we came back. A big plus, the complimentary products smelled so good and were from a local company.
There is a little courtyard and it’s super cute at night. The lobby is a few blocks away but we only needed to go there for the check-in. We didn’t have time to enjoy the jacuzzi at the main hotel, but it’s a big plus for the ones who would like to take the time to go there and enjoy it. The staff was also super friendly.
The only negative comment I could make is concerning the parking. When you arrive late, it’s hard to find a spot, you might have to go in the street.
Bottom line, we would definitely stay there again.
Room tip: It’s sometimes hard to find parking when you arrive late at the hotel. You might have to park in the street.

We stayed for one night at this Motel. The room was spacious, modern and well appointed! It's a super quiet location too. The bed was very comfortable too. Our room was on the mail floor and had an entrance from the outside and an additional one leading to the courtyard.
