We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Caribou Lodge, Banff. Great location (although be prepared for a 20 min walk in to Banff but we enjoyed this along the main road). A mountain style lodge which was comfortable although we can understand why some reviews say it requires updating. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They were able to give directions and also recommendations. We ate in the restaurant - Keg Steakhouse & Bar for 1 breakfast and 1 evening meal as we wanted to explore Banff and try other restaurants. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. Plenty to do nearby and the hotel provides you with a complimentary 'Banff Local Roam' bus pass which was great to get to the Banff Gondola. Free coffee in the lounge from 7am to 11 am was a lovely touch too. We would not hesitate to return.

Really nice hotel but needs some modernisation. The hot pool and steam room were nice. We didn’t eat here so can’t comment, but the restaurant was always busy. The rooms are nice, we had two large beds, it was our honeymoon and we had a bottle of wine left for us which was a really lovely gesture.
The location is good if you don’t mind a 20 minute walk into the town, it is a nice walk along the main road. It has underground parking which was a bonus, but be careful not to miss the turning as there is a bus stop right outside the entrance.
Overall a nice hotel but just needs a little TLC.

Stayed for 3 nights after the Rocky Mountaineer train.
The hotel managed to lose our luggage and then the check in staff lied to us about what had happened.
The situation was only saved by Rocky Mountaineer staff going above and beyond to rectify the situation.
Room was ok….but dated with broken light switch which was not repaired…..
There was a large gap in the door which would make it completely ineffective as a fire door.
No air on in room….only heating which is no good in the summer months.
Ok overall but I don’t like being lied to.
On the upside we had a great meal in the On-site Keg steak restaurant.
