We don't find this place deserving at all the high Trip Advisor ratings they so proudly display in their lobby.
It's a lovely place from the outside - cute cabins, nice BBQ areas - but the inside are seriously rundown and dirty. Amenities aren't as advertised on their booking website. Their maintenance staff are disrespectful and clearly dislike their jobs.
The place doesn't offer any food not even snacks and vending machines on-site but they did promise a full kitchen when you booked it. However, when we got there: the stove doesn't work, there's no baking tray or cooking pan in the unit. No coffee filter available while the coffee packets they have don't come with built in filter.
The toilet has a slow leak which leaves a pool of water perpetually. The 'clean' shower towel has a blood stain on it.
The cleaning person only made one bed not the other.
The supply person backs his car up against our open door when we were enjoying the afternoon sun, with loud music blasting. There are 5 empty parking spots right around us yet he chose to come straight into our face.
The only redeeming quality of this place is its front desk staff who are keen to help and feel like the only professionally trained people. They gave us a small discount for our stay which was a nice gesture but I feel I ought to speak up here about the overall dire situation just to help others calibrate their expectation when you book this place.
I would add that what also doesn't help is that we paid $450 a night for all this. We just find it such a low return on investment. With this kind of price we would be talking a fully equipped medium sized AirBnb home, or a 4 star all inclusive hotel with professional services.
Initially we chose this place because it's tucked away in the mountains and away from the downtown crowd. But in the end we don't think it's smart choice because we can't cook at the place, there's no food served there, and to go to town and fight for parking it takes easily over 30 utes one way. Or worse, 1 hr through the Roam transit bus which we had to transfer lines and the bus schedule is every 30 min after peak hours. I don't know why Banff is trying so hard to deter tourists overall but that is the vibe I get here: I'm not welcome even if I'm eager to funnel ton of money to see a glimpse of this so-called Canadian Rockies, which, is beautiful but there are so much more rarer beauties in the world that don't cost you an arm and a leg.
