Beautiful views, great times

Reviewed Apr 25, 2023
Very comfortable beds and room was spacious. Amenities like the pool, spa, gym are all top notch. Customer service was friendly, respectful, and very timely. Lots to do in the surrounding area, more affordable than downtown vail. Sits right along the river with beautiful views, hard to beat anywhere else in the vail area.

My son got flea bites all over his stomach after leaving his sweatshirt and jacket on the floor in our room and wearing them the next day. Obviously a good lesson to hang up stuff, and like dog friendly hotels, but this was just gross. Won’t go back.

The Westin team went above and beyond to obliterate my less-than-stellar first impressions, and by the end of the stay we were committed to returning, albeit at a less busy time of year. Our first challenge was related to my oversight when booking the trip, as I had failed to read the fine print that the full rate would be charged a month out, which was a source of concern for us as our stay was a stopover on an extended and meticulously planned road trip. Therefore, when weather caused us to run a day behind, we were less than hopeful that our request to move the reservation from a weekday to a weekend would be accommodated. Luckily we we wrong, and our request was graciously accommodated. Our second challenge was when we pulled up to the facility and witnessed a wall of cars at the valet stand checking in. Despite the crowds, we were immediately attended to by the superb and super friendly valet staff, who did an impressive job of bringing order to the chaos. The third challenge was during check-in which, although a quick and seamless process, was tainted by the blistering music spun by a DJ that was not in line with our Gen X taste, however later in the evening, he was swapped out with a fantastic live band that was more in line with our musical preference.

But, of course, the most memorable part of our stay were the WOW moments -- BEAUTIFUL facility, stunning room and view ( studio suite valley view), convenient location (walking proximity to local village) -- and stellar staff who truly go above and beyond to accommodate what I observed to be pretty high-maintenance clientele during one of their busiest times of the year. Truly one of our best experiences at a Westin.

Long time skier wanted a place to take my son. This place is ideal for families. If you have beginners bus over to beaver creek they have a bunny hill with a gondola. We are both good skiers so we took the gondola right from the hotel to the lower lift. Skied the whole mountain except for stone creek chutes and grouse over two days. AT skiers can skin over to bald spot. My son and I took a bus to mountain meadows to ski backcountry. Nice people. Transit center is a block away we took epic van but one could bus from EGE. Benders burgers has happy hour 2 to 5 with a nice burger for 6.50. We got a room with kitchen you can walk to city market. Great place will return. Beyond 5 star. Great music every nigjt. Nice pool and hot tubs.

This is a great resort hotel for a ski trip, with the benefits of being in-town yet almost on-mountain, and without the price of being in Beaver Creek itself or Vail Village.

I stayed in a studio suite which was spacious and comfortable. The layout puts the bed far from the entry door, so the room is quiet. There's a ton of storage space for clothes, but the bathroom needs more than one towel hook. The mini-kitchen area (which even includes a two-burner range) is fantastic, but check the temperature setting on the fridge. Mine was set to the coldest level, and it froze my fruit. Wi-fi was fast.

Ski services were fantastic. It's under a minute from the boot storage area to picking up skis to the adjacent gondola, and from the gondola to the first lift it's 30 seconds. As someone who hates walking in ski boots or lugging my stuff around, this was great. The only downside is that the lift takes you to the Bachelor Gulch side of the mountain, and it's a bit of a boring trek to get to the main Beaver Creek side. I used the hotel's shuttle once to go to Vail. It was prompt, and it was full - get there 5 minutes early if you don't want to stand. The county bus system is also very convenient for getting around day or night, but if you have skis you'll need to bring them on the bus with you. And the hotel car was great for a trip to and from the Ritz Carlton for dinner.

Breakfast was buffet-style with a varied spread. A made-to-order station would really elevate the offering. Dinner in the restaurant was fantastic. Tip: do not shop at the mini-market in the hotel; they will gouge you on prices. I expect to pay more in a hotel, but $4 for a Kind Bar is insulting. There's a full-size grocery store less than a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

Don't miss the spa and fitness areas. The spa is calming, and I had a great massage. The gym is very well equipped with many classes; community residents have memberships there to give you an indication of the quality - well above a typical hotel gym.

Overall, the hotel far exceeded my expectations as a Westin, and I'd gladly stay here again.

Wonderful three-peat stay at this lovely hotel. Amazing staff (Seth, Ava, Micky, etc.) made our stay even better. The food, service, location, amenities, and cleanliness of premises was above par. Especially appreciated the Starbucks in-room coffee, well-stocked kitchen, White Linen bath gel, platinum breakfast gift: full buffet-( eggs benedict, avocado toast, carrot muffins, etc.) Fireplace, humidifier, comfy bed and sofa, large soaking tub, tall ceilings and beautiful views. Enjoyed taking their van to Vail for the day.
FYI... Did not need a car. Walked to restaurants (Ticino and nearby wine store, Vin 48, Sabor Mazatlan-pork carnitas) and took the Epic shuttle to/from airport. Saved the aggravation and expense of the garage. We did not try the new restaurant - Stoke & Rye (menu heavy on meats did not appeal to us), but ate several times in the lobby (or took food back to the beautiful room)...truffle fries, mushroom flatbread, chopped salad, burger, etc. Loved the convenience and ease this hotel provided for 60+ patrons trying to squeeze out another ski trip. Lots of kids, cookies, hot chocolate, and gorgeous dogs. Enjoyed every minute. Love the Westin Riverfront.
