I just had a total hip performed at the Steadman Clinic. The actual surgery was in Edwards so Avon was very close.
I elected to recover at this Weston as it was one of the hotel’s recommended by the concierge at the clinic. In fact the concierge at the clinic helped us make all the reservations needed including shuttles to and from the Denver Airport. The concierge at the clinic worked hand in hand with the “recovery” concierge at the Westin (Wendy). I should mention that there is a special Steadman Clinic Recovery Program Discount.
It was seamless. I felt I was staying at a W, the exclusive Westin’s where their motto is “ whatever, whenever”. If you have had the opportunity to ever stay at a W you know what I mean. You pick up the phone and the person on the other end is empowered to do whatever you need. This is awesome especially when you are there to recover from surgery.
The one bedroom unit was a uplifting place to stay. It has a king bed, good size bathroom to manipulate your walker, a full kitchen ( like in my house) a washer and dryer in one of the closets. A dining room table and my favorite a living room with Two great couches and 2 armchairs with a push button fireplace. 301a is a corner room with windows out both the front and the side. I suspect it is one of the closest rooms to the front entry which made it very convenient.
The hotel as part of the recovery package also has available a shower chair, an elevated toilet seat and ice chest.
The TV has a variety of shows including new movies ($20) and a chrome app which allow you to easily connect to your phone and play your Netflix or Prime TV from home. The regular channels included showtime. So lots of variety available. The only area of improvement needed is in their new movie app which after paying your ($20 plus tax) for the movie does not allow you to rewind the movie. You can pause the movie for up to 10 minutes, but if you doze off while recovering on your pain meds you are out of luck. I was told the rental is a one time thing by one person and a 24 hour thing by another but the billing indicated it is a one time deal and subsequent viewing will be charged again. Having movies available for 24 hours would have encouraged me to buy more of them. They have a terrific selection.

I am a faithful Marriott customer. I booked this versus another property in Vail on the basis on the in room fireplaces. I have NOTHING but positives things to say after 4 nights. The hotel and rooms were spotless, staff was courteous and parking was easy. We enjoyed several meals at Maya and food/drinks were a bit pricy ($18 margarita but $8 during happy hour) but delicious. We loved the hot tubs and fitness center. We would’ve taken advantage of more of the classes etc except the $50 fee per person but understandable with the quality of classes/fitness center. Even during COVID, valet and in room dining was available. This hotel is west of Vail and about 15min drive to Vail city center and 50 min drive to Breck. We will definitely return❤️

Located on the edge of the Eagle river, this property is one of the best in Eagle Valley. It’s modern rooms and common areas create an urban feel in a mountain environment. Located in Avon and at the bottom of Beaver Creek resort, the location makes it easy access to all areas of the valley. The modern and well appointed gym is frequented by world class winter athletes while Richard Sandoval brings a world class culinary experience to the main restaurant in the hotel. Highly recommend.

For years this was our favorite hotel in the Avon/Vail area. The prices have always been high but the staff and service had previously made it worth it.
Unfortunately, that has changed.
We booked a 2 bedroom suite with a large balcony overlooking the pool and facing the mountain. We arrived around 1pm, knowing we would likely not get our room right away as check in is not until 4. The staff let us know they were working on the room and would call us when it was ready. So we waited, and waited, and waited. At 4pm (check in time) we contacted the front desk and asked if our room was ready. It was not. After another hour we contacted them again and were told they would “get right on it”. Around 5:20 pm we finally got our room. When paying over $1100 for one night of 4pm to 11am the next day, it is reasonable to expect to at least get your room on time. Especially when they knew we had been waiting since 1pm.
When we got to the room, it had a tiny little balcony that fit 2 chairs, not the expansive balcony with a fire pit that we had booked. When I explained to management that this was not the room we had paid for, they simply said this is the room you are in and we are sold out. They were totally unapologetic for both the room and for not getting it ready on time. The manager did waive our self parking fee of $30 as though that made up for what had gone wrong.
Had they at least said they were sorry, I would not have been so turned off. Mistakes happen. But the total lack of apology and total lack of interest in delivery the correct room at the correct time was unacceptable.
We have since chosen to visit other hotels in the Vail/Avon area and have found more beautiful locations and amenities with fabulous staff that make your stay lovely instead of the Westin’s attitude that you are lucky they even let you in the door.

We were warmly greeted at the front desk by Carolina. Even though we all were wearing masks she made us feel welcome, answered all our questions and set us up a in a great room overlooking the river. The Hotel is beautiful and clean with staff working constantly to keep it that way. The second day I had a question and McKinsey at the front desk stepped up and solved it. Thanks, We'll be back.

This review is for a March stay. I called and emailed to handle this privately and received no response.
The room rate and service/experience absolutely do not match up. I am sympathetic to the labor shortage but highly disappointed my original correspondence was not answered and just overall disappointed in the experience this hotel is offering.

I assisted my in-laws with booking an 8-night stay at the Westin Riverfront Resort in March. The total stay was around $14,000 for the 8 nights. They thought the room was nice and comfortable, view lovely, construction not a problem. However, the service experience of the entire stay left a lot to be desired.

A few examples....
~The most egregious shortcoming was the lack of housekeeping. My father in law inquired about this after 3 days of no housekeeping and was told, very matter of factly, "well did you purchase the housekeeping package?" We booked this with an agent using my bonvoy account and no housekeeping package was mentioned. For $14,000 one expects their bed to be made daily, at a minimum. The kitchenette trash was piling up and the lack of housekeeping was very disappointing to my in laws. They only had housekeeping 2 or 3 times for their entire stay.
~The kitchen light didn't work. My father in law made several mentions of this. It was not fixed until halfway through the stay when my father in law happened to see a maintenance man in the hallway and he directly asked for it to be fixed. That day, the maintenance man took care of it.
~The TV did not work correctly the entire stay. They could get a couple channels but it wasn't really working and no one ever fixed it even with numerous requests.
~There was no communication of what was going on at the hotel. One would expect a paper in the room with some general info RE live music, weather, etc. This is common practice. Maybe this information would have been provided on the TV that wasn't functioning properly.

There is obviously a breakdown in communication and a lowering of service standards at this hotel. The rate does not reflect that.
I believe that if you can't offer the standard of service that is to be expected, you should not charge for it.

Hello Molly C, Hello courtney12340, Thank you for providing feedback from your recent stay at the resort. I regret to read of your overall experience and invite you to reach out to our management team if you would like to discuss further at 970-790-6000. All guests staying at the hotel side of our property receive housekeeping the third day of the stay, followed by every other day. I understand how housekeeping is a basic expectation, however, staffing challenges have required our team to offer more limited services, this being reflected in a lesser nightly room price point from what we would have normally offered in our peak season. This was communicated through our guest pre-arrival letter and upon check-in. This letter also provides all events offered by or through the resort, as well in the local community. We also offer a full sized calendar of events at our front desk or a printed copy by either our front desk or concierge team upon request. Again, we appreciate your feedback.

This is a beautiful property in an amazing location. We just wanted to get away for a few days and chose this hotel. Unfortunately for us, Colorado increased the occupancy rate to 100% at hotels the day before we arrived, so it was more crowded than we expected. When we arrived on a Saturday evening the lobby was packed which made us a little nervous. However, Jill checked us in and her demeanor was very calming despite what must have been a stressful situation for the Hotel staff (Imagine, she was trying to maintain 6 feet, communicate important information while wearing a mask and trying to shout over the live music in the lobby). When we saw Jill later that evening and asked for extra coffee for the room, she was very happy to help us out. We interacted with her every day for the rest of our stay, and she stood out as head and shoulders above the rest of the staff in service. The concierge couldn’t be bothered to provide any information, and the 2 breakfast servers were completely overwhelmed and stressed out. We felt for them, but it was awkward that every morning they had to tell us how overworked they were. We understand it’s a difficult situation and there are some kinks to work out when reopening in the era of COVID. If only more of the staff could be like Jill, we would have given our stay 5 stars.

From the staff at the ski valet, Maya’s restaurant, Anjali Spa, the baggage valet and Jose at the front desk, all delivered impeccable service.

One cannot say that about room service or the lack response from the manager of that department, even when the front desk manager and two front desk staff (not Jose) committed to having him/her contact my wife to discuss the issue (3x requests we made for this to happen).

My profile picture above was the TWO scoops of ice cream that we ordered following a special meal in our room. If you only see one scoop, and barely that (that’s a tea spoon under the “scoop” ) your eyes are not deceiving you.

When we called room service to complain that we had ordered two scoops and received what I would call a third of a scoop maybe, we were brought double what you see above, with the added benefit of what looked like freezer burn on top of it.

Issues like this one can be solved by quick communication and an apology from the party responsible. As of yet, we are still waiting.

There is a great time to be had at the property. I would just not order room service for it may leave a a bad taste in your mouth :).

Hello and thank you for sharing this very detailed feedback. I can empathize with the short-comings you experienced with the expectations of what should have been a very simple task - more ice cream (and fresh), please! Please do accept our apologies and inability at the time to correct this very easy mistake; you're right, this certainly could have been resolved quickly with the proper communication. I will see to it that our F&B department are briefed and reviewed as to where the breakdown occurred and ensure we resolve these issues much more efficiently. Thank you for your praise, however, for the many areas in which we got right! We'll also be sure to let those employees know at Ski Valet, Maya's, Anjali Spa and our Front Desk team your appreciation. Please do visit us again soon and let us make it up to you!

we stayed in the villas building, so we got a nice sized room with a well stocked kitchenette. no housekeeping due to covid, but whenever we requested something it was delivered right away.
the biggest disappointment for us was the pool. it's chilly, and it's tiled in a very dark grey/black so you feel like you're swimming in black murky bleach water. also, it's more of a lap pool than a free style pool so be prepared not to frolic in the water.
