Christie Lodge garners acclaim for its friendly staff and a prime location that offers easy access to transportation and local attractions, which guests frequently appreciate. Though opinions on the atmosphere are divided, with some noting updated rooms and others pointing out dated decor, the range of amenities—including hot tubs and well-equipped kitchens—earns consistent praise. While some travelers mention the rooms can feel cramped and have temperature issues, the overall value and cleanliness are well-regarded, making it a reasonable choice for many.

I read an earlier review about the unbearable smell of Subway in a particular room but I thought, oh what are the chances they will put me in that same room as the reviewer? Well pretty good apparently. Room 321. It's overpowering. Avoid that room. Subway restaurant directly below on the ground floor piping in the "not so eat fresh" smells.

Also they knew I was a woman traveling alone so whyyyyyyy put me the furthest possible location from the elevators? I travel with a huge beauty kit for my job so I had to lug my bags with my mask down a narrow hall, down a flight of stairs, onto another long hall. Did I call to get moved? Nope...because I wasn't hauling that stuff again. Now they did offer to help me with my bags initially but I declined. I thought...how bad could it be anyway? It's bad.

Ok the bed. Every time I tossed and turned, it sounded like I stepped on a squeaky dog toy. So if you're a couple staying in that room and wish to do anything more "substantial" other than sleep in that bed, avoid room 321. Maybe they save that room for the lone travelers.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your thoughts. We apologize for placing you in 321. Guests do like that room due to the view, but you can smell the Subway since it is located directly above the bakery. We are looking at ways to vent the room better so the baking process does not impact that unit as much. In the coming months, we are replacing all of our mattresses and will replace the base with a platform to eliminate the squeaking. We hope you will try us again.

After reading some of the reviews, I was on the fence about whether I made a mistake booking this but we were pleasantly surprised. Location: awesome. We skied at Beaver Creek accessible via free shuttle at hotel, then Vail 15 minutes away - hotel is right off I70 which was very convenient, and hit Keystone on the way to the airport. So location was great.
Cleanliness: Our room was clean and nice. Housekeeping didn’t come after our first night which I think was a mishap but we didn’t complain. It wasn’t a huge deal. We just needed towels and got them.
Layout of the room- I see ppl complaining about the Master-bedroom as the room you walk into. I could see this being a problem if you or the party your w/ needs privacy. We are a family of 4 so it didn’t bother us. The only complaint I had about the room is how hard the mattress was. It was brutal.
I only saw 2 elevators but we never had to wait for them and they weren’t crowded. There are plenty of stairs if you don’t mind using them.
Aside from the room itself, we never used the hot tubs or pool. It felt like the indoor hot tubs were awkwardly placed in the middle of a mall type setting w/ lattice around them. Not very inviting. The outdoor hot tub looked very crowded so we didn’t bother.
There are restaurants in the area, a grocery store, Walgreens, Christie’s Ski Shop. So there is a lot in the immediate area. The ski shop in the hotel will wax your skis/ boards for you at a reasonable price.
Considering the price point during a holiday week, overall we were happy staying here. Pics were taken when we were checking out.

The lodge is very centrally located in Avon. At the foot of Beaver Creek Resort. There several restaurants within walking distance Also the grocery store. The rooms are well maintained and recently renovated. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave, sink and dishwasher. There is one stove burner. The public areas are very inviting and comfortable. The outsoor pool was nice and there are several hot tubs to choose from. Try to stay on the sputh side of the building as the north side is the highway side and kind of loud.

They have the potential to be an outstanding place. It looks to have been recently remodeled and they are working on part of the resort. The front desk and management are great. I couldnt have dealt with a greater group of people. Housekeeping on the other hand is the complete opposite. When we first got to the room the floors were sticky and disgusting. The table had pieces of food left on it and there was dirty dishes put in the cabinet. The blanket for the pull out sofa had hair all over it and smelled sour. When we called and asked for more towels the housekeeper only brought a few then asked if we needed more. We told him yes and he got aggravated about it and never came back. I notified management and they were very helpful. Also I've never seen housekeeping pushing the vacumn around and just letting the cord drag 20' behind them when they were moving to a different area.

Odd experience. Here is summary of the good, bad, and strange.

Good: location, very friendly staff, comfortable bed, room was clean when we arrived.
Bad: When we checked in they told us they would clean our room on Tuesday or Wednesday, but housekeeping never came. Later in the week when we asked at the front desk why we did not receive housekeeping, we were told they do not provide housekeeping for RCI trades even if you are there for the week. The hallways always were covered with cracker and other crumbs. They use temporary portable a/c units with a hole to the outside (you can see through it) for one hose and an exhaust hose up the chimney. The a/c unit was loud and broken, heating the room instead of cooling it. They did fix it during our visit. The room had no soap/shampoo, etc. The shower leaked. The bathroom sink clogged and had to be fixed. There is a door in the middle of the hallway (purpose unknown) outside our room, but it sticks such that everyone passing through it had to bank it hard to open, creating significant noise at all times of day. When this hall door was opened it blocked our room door. I am unsure what the Colorado building code is, but I observed what would be fire safety code violations in our state. For example, they have cut an opening in the wall between the bedroom and the closet where the fire sprinkler is a bit inside the closet, blocking the sprinkler flow if an emergency occurred. Viewing this and other related issues, I do wonder if the meet NFPA guidelines?
Peculiar: the lodge is like an Escher painting with doors to nowhere, bizarre staircases, elevator does not go to all floors so some stairs are still needed depending on where your room is located, etc. Not all staff are aware of the Lodge policies resulting in us receiving incorrect information. Clearly the lodge has been updated through a sequence of upgrades, resulting in a strange layout. The garage ceiling had leaves, tape, and other things hanging out of the concrete, suggesting they lacked quality during construction. Further, they have duct tape over concrete cracks - it does not inspire confidence in the structure.

The Christie Lodge is located where you can take a free bus right to Beavercreek and you can also take a bus to the Avon transportation center to get a $4 bus to Vail. It has a full refrigerator, one burner, a microwave, a coffee pot and a well stocked kitchette. There are lots of restaurants in Avon that are good.

Upon leaving we found an envelope to give the housekeeper a tip. Didn’t tip because no one ever came in that room to clean and we were there four nights. The location is good and the remodeling done is decent Desk staff is nice and helpful The mattresses and pillows are awful- like they just ordered the cheapest mattress sold at mattress firm! For the price, you’d think they could have better mattresses! Also no coffee in the lobby. And you have to walk in the cold to get coffee unless you buy coffee for the coffeemaker. The subway restaurant had a broken coffeemaker too! The walls are thin and there’s a lot of hall noise with kids in the pool and parents allowing kids to run up and down the halls. Still, we did have fun In beaver creek

I took my family of 5 to Christie Lodge in Feb 2020. We had a pretty good experience overall. There are 2 restaurants attached to the building, and there are all sorts of other businesses within walking distance such as across the street. The biggest issue I guess was the indoor pool being very small, beds being uncomfortable, and the few stairs we had to climb to get to our room.with luggage. The front desk said it's "no big deal (stairs)". While it wasn't I could tell they were minimizing the task. Anyway, the place seemed kind of old, but had renovations that made it look somewhat newer. There were 4 hot tubs ( 1 outdoor), 2 pools (indoor being very small), a game room with pool table and air hockey, and a wii console with many games. My kids and I especially liked the Just Dance game. There is also a ski rental co in the resort that offered enough of a discount and with the convenience, it made sense to use them. While we had no major issues, I would recommend if someone is wanting to stay in Avon, CO.

The property is well maintained and has the amenities you would need but beware when asking for a room. We had a cold room overlooking the main street. The $60 short stay cleaning fee seemed excessive since all we did was sleep there one night!

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your experience. We are happy you liked our convenient location and liked our well maintained rooms and amenities. It sounds like you came in on an RCI points night and I am sorry you felt like the $60 charge was too much for a one night stay. Please keep in mind that we do a very thorough cleaning of the unit that includes washing every kitchen item in the kitchen, even it was not used. At BC (Beaver Creek) & about 15 minute drive to Vail.
4 hot tubs & heated outdoor pool (didn't have any issues with getting one, people respected the 15 minutes if others were waiting the week I was there)
Plenty of local places to get things in walking distance or very short drive if you are too tired after skiing all day. Recommend Bob's Place for weekend breakfast. Great food. A Subway with entrance from inside facility. Also Charter Sports is the same for quick access for ski stuff and helpful staff at Charter especially since this was first time in area.
Small room, but great location and the partial kitchen was big enough for us 4 skiers for breakfast and supper meals with 1 burner and 1 skillet.
Just remember you may have some stairs to traverse your luggage and food, but well worth it for the location and bennies you get.
They have ping pong tables, air hockey tables (cost), and exercise room which all looked great, but I didn't partake. Did do runs every day East out of facility to Walmart & Home Depot entrance and back. Bike lines both ways and it was flat and nice views of the valley (still 8,000+ elevation, so take it easy if you're not acclimated to the elevation).
Staff was helpful. Let me have extra door keys (RFID cards) for all and an extra parking pass since we had 2 vehicles due to them having extra spots that week. Also gave us extra towels, TP, & lotion when needed.
Highly recommended.

I don’t know specifically about the blue line. If Christie Lodge can’t answer your question, there is probably a link on the Vail ski mountain website or person to call. They should know about routes to the slopes. I think they are open for info since they are selling ski passes for this season.
