Our travel agent in Canada booked us at the Habitat Terrace for our three-week visit to St. Lucia, and we were so happy she did. The hotel is secluded up in the hills above Rodney Bay and Gros Islet, in an area called Bonne Terre. Very quiet. Beautiful gardens. Exceptional service from Angela, the Manager, and Yvonne, the housekeeper. Due to illness, the owner Cheryl Skeete is no longer involved. Somewhat of a negative is that there is rarely hot water for the shower, although it usually turns tepid after waiting for five minutes or so. We considered this a relatively minor inconvenience given all the pluses. The kitchen was well furnished, and we cooked most of our meals. But an EC$25 (US$10) taxi ride will take you down to the Rodney Bay Marina, where there is a slew of restaurants.
