PHENOMENAL 3-STAR SUN HOLIDAY BEACH RESORT!

Reviewed Mar 28, 2023
OK if you want tons of 5-star extras in a fancy Riu-style hotel with huge pools and swim-up bars etc. this is not for you. But if you want great, friendly staff and efficient rooms with excellent housekeeping and great AC, WiFi, safe, small fridge, flat-screen when you finally hit the sack, changeable beach towels daily and an AUTHENTIC Jamaican food buffet and a mind-blowing beach, do the all-inclusive with direct flights (in Canada Sunwing), transfers, food and accommodations all in. Just about no loud, screaming kids. Mostly couples RELAXING in shade or cooking themselves on a superb beach and chillin'. Yahmon! Irie! My wife and I just returned from great week here. You want ganja it's cheap and hawked by entrepreneurs on the beach. Don't bring your own. Stick with rum, vodka, gin, Curacao, draft beer. There are munchies within a ten-minute walk (loved Mikey's convenience store). You want fancy and choice of restos abd loud bars might as well be in Miami. THIS is the real Jamaica!
Date of stay: March 2023
Room Tip: Don't expect Miami-style accommodations. But expect real Jamaica.

We stayed March 12th -19th 2023 have never been disappointed this is the real Jamaica ! The staffis treated with respect! They are warm and accommodating we are always greeted with a hug when we arrive and hug by the whole staff when we leave! They treat like family. It’s NOT a 5 star resort but it’s clean food is genuine Jamaican served in a Jamaican minute! So be patient! Some tips for you.bring your own beach towels, peanut butter, mustard, ketchup and relish If you don’t want to have buffet food just ask the chef for à la cart ,with little tip he or she will be more than happy to accommodate you ! The staff is kind and always willing to help! if you need anything Steve is always willing take trips to town ! He’s the best! Remember respect goes a long way . My wife and I known as Mr.and Mrs Barry we will be back next year!!! And to my Great buddy And wonderful entertainer Country ! 1 more tip Bar some times runs out of booze but soon have it replaced. Remember RESPECT MON !

Negril Jamaica on 7 mile beach has been a favourite spot for yrs. Have stayed at many of the resorts and hotels beachside and after looking at different places online fun holiday looked good for the price. Rooms were clean had good service nice friendly staff. Buffet style meals always found something to eat; fruit salads chicken rice fries at lunch several times. Only one bar and they sometimes ran out of beer or rum but usually had some soon. Beach was awesome seen some manta rays and stingrays close to shore found few starfish. The beach caretaker “Ninja” can hook you up with most anything and sells some souvenirs beachside.

Room tip: Fridge rental available at the check in office for 5 bucks a day keep your drinks cold. Hi Lo grocery store 10 min walk or 10 bucks for cab.

I have traveled to Negril many times, and have stayed at Fun Holiday once in 2020. It was ok, I'm not a fussy traveler. The point of this review is to make others aware of my issue of refunding. My boyfriend and I had a trip planned in 2021 for February 2022. Unfortunately he passed away suddenly September 2021. I contacted airlines, hotels etc. Westender refunded me as did Air Transat no problem. It is now March 2023 and I am still trying to get my refund from them. I had booked 2 rooms (one for myself and one for my brother in law and his girlfriend) $2,290 USD. I have emails stating no problem, we will refund you, minus 10% (which i have absolutely no problem with) I have phoned daily for weeks on end, the manager is "never in the office" regardless of what time I phone. I got am email on February 21st stating that yes, finally they would refund me and asked what credit card etc. Now nothing again. Point of my story - sure, go to Fun Holiday! BUT DONT EVER CANCEL!!! LOL

I loved the place, it was very clean, and I had no issues, the security was a little bit on the less side when I was there, the food was pretty damn good to, the people that work there were very friendly, and helpful, I hope to be back soon. (Ivisited here quite a few years ago) no complaints.

Room tip: Locally owned, nothing fancy, that’s what I expected. When I arrived here, I loved the place.

Booking this we knew we weren’t going into a five-star hotel, but pictures on the website are very deceiving. This resort is tired and worn and in need of repair. rooms were clean. Beach was amazing after spending seven days exploring I think this is the best beachfront There is on 7 mile. Staff did everything they could to make your stay comfortable, but management really needs to spend a little more money, meal times were unpredictable breakfast would start somewhere between seven and nine with lunch being served between 130 and 230 and supper was somewhere after 8 o’clock. The food was simple you wouldn’t starve unless You were really picky and the one consistent factor is rice and chicken every day rice and chicken. The bar is very limited in their choices. They ran out of beer on the number five and still hadn’t received any on day number eight when we left. The real question is, would we come back? The beach is absolutely amazing and the staff are wonderful. They try very hard to do what they can with the limited resources that they have but time will tell if the beach is a big enough draw to overcome the short comings of this hotel.
